Thanks, Elise Elise, I had migrains since my early childhood and in the past few years they have gone away, have no idea why. I do know there are 15 different foods that cause migrains and the only ones I remember were the ones in my diet and I stopped them. Chocolate, peanut butter, caffine, red wines, dairy products, and I wish I had the rest of the list to send you. I found that I could eat certain chocolates but had to leave Oreo cookies and Mounds candy bars alone, absolutely no red wine, the caffine will help get rid of a migrain and cause it too, so that is a hard one to figure out, I am ok with coffee, and the dairy products don't bother me either. You could ask your Dr if he has a list of the migrain causing foods so you could start eliminating them and then after you have no headaches start adding them back into your diet to see who is the culprit and avoid it. Not all of the foods are bad it's just what your system says is bad.
Guest guest
Magnesium and the herb feverfew are said to be good for headaches. Try googling " headache feverfew magnesium " Of course drinking plenty of water and other common sense health things are important. Chiropractic, massage, and/or cranial work might help, too. Guest guest
Like Scott, I'd say magnessium. I friend of mine used to get awful migrane headaches, she would have to go and lie down in a dark room with a cold wet flannel on her head. Someone suggested trying magnessium, which she did, with great success. She sometimes gets a more minor type of headache, but nothing like she used to, if she takes magnessium regularly. I've heard that muscle/eye twitching can be a sign of a mag. deficiency. Also, if you would rather, a bath in Epsom salts may help, as the magnessium can be absorbed through the skin. Guest guest
How often do you have a bowel movement? Do you drink coffee? What is your diet like. Suggestions: No more coffee, this will be hell for a few weeks but once done, done. Next I'd suggest you stop drinking alcohol if you do. This burns up B vitamins as well a C. Take extra B-Complex and B1. When your at the store and you see B-50 or B-100 these are the same thing in different quantities. IF you smoke, drink, and caffeinate your self each day take the B-Complex 100's. If only Coffee type stuff then B50 sounds like it should do it. Be your own Judge and play with the amounts of vitamins you take and find what you feel is best. Next Suggestion: Stop eating out. No more sodas 4 U. That's about it. Zeb P.s. Guest guest
Also, beware of the " sugar substitutes " (like aspartame/Nutrasweet and Splenda). They are in everything these days (sodas, sugar free gum, etc) and notorious for contributing to migraines.
