Guest guest
I may not know everything about this, or maybe there are different types of TMJ, but from what I do know, any chiropractor can correct TMJ in a second by manipulating the jawbone. I actually even learned to do it to myself when needed. Check with some chiropractors before doing anything drastic like taking drugs. Carole Tracy in Ohio [tltucker] Wednesday, March 30, 2005 10:34 AM To: herbal remedies Herbal Remedies - Treating TMJ?? Hello all! I've recently (within the last year) begun experiencing the symptoms of TMJ, with increased pain in the last 6 months. What would you recommend for treatment? I did a quick 'net search, and saw an advertisement for something called 'serenitol', touted to be a natural remedy (if someone knowledgeable would be kind enough to follow the link and check out the ingredients for me, I'd appreciate it! With the exeption of 2--I forget what they are, though) they all are herbal. However, it has a daytime and nighttime medication, and I don't currently have *any* trouble sleeping (stay-at-home mom of a toddler, with a 9 year old in school, big yard and flowerbeds to take care of, lots of carpooling to school.... zzzzzzzzzzz!) ;o) http://www.serenitol.com/seren.gif Was wondering if Doc Christopher's Complete Tissue and Bone Formula, or Doc's Deep Tissue Repair Oil might do some regeneration of the cartilage for the TMJ?? Also, I had 5 lymph nodes taken out under my arm last September (melanoma removed from tricep area) and now there's fluid gathering under my arm... had it drained 3 months ago, and will have to have it drained again next week. Any remedies for it? I don't do so well with needles and medical procedures, and would like to not have to continue to do this!! Guest guest
A trained massage therapist can also help (one can claim I have bias because I am one, but I've seen therapists in action and their results can be phenomenal!), but only one who has been trained in dealing with TMJ. (Check to see where they had their training, because some unethical therapists read articles in massage magazines about different techniques, or they learn them from friends, and then claim they provide that type of bodywork.) But most therapists are ethical; simply check to see where they got their training. It's worth the footwork to find a good therapist, they can often do wonders, even with traditionally " non-massage " issues like TMJ. Guest guest
Dear Tracy, The other 2 responses were good. As far as the lymph go this is where I'm over my head. If you had them in I could help. I'll send this on to Doc with a note. Maybe he can help out with this one. As far as the fluid is concerned it is simply the fluid that the lymph system uses to get garbage out of your body. So its a drainage system that has no outlet, hence accumulation. Guest guest
Cranial Sacral Therapy is a good way to go, for TMJ, there are special re-training exercise you can learn to help yourself. You can find a practitioner at: www.upledger.com (I am a massage therapist and have taken some advanced cranial training.. ) Also, how about an herbal solution that provides magnesium and potassium, and/or that balances the ph? I am starting to think that acidity is a big precursor to a lot of health issues. Can someone mention the herbal remedies that are good for relaxing muscle spasms? Or that have a lot of magnesium in them? Scott. P.S. I wonder if horse-chesnut would help the edema, under you arm? It's supposed to be good for edema in the feet, or varicose veins, it looks like butcher's broom is good for capillaries, too! herbal remedies , " supervixen08 " <supervixen08> wrote: > > > A trained massage therapist can also help (one can claim I have bias > because I am one, but I've seen therapists in action and their results > can be phenomenal!), but only one who has been trained in dealing with > TMJ.
