Guest guest
My friend has just been diagnosed with Severe Endometriosis. She wants to avoid the conventional approach...whatever that is. Does anyone have any feedback or recommendations on how she should approach this. Any alternative ideas on how this occured? Thank you in advance for your feedback and comments. vsp
Guest guest
VSP, While I personally don't have endo, my little sister does and had struggled severely with it for a few years. Last fall she even had surgery that was " supposed " to make it all better for awhile, but she actually ended up in the hospital the following cycle after the surgery! Now, she is doing great though. In Dec she began going in for acupuncture and changed her diet dramatically as well. I am pretty sure that she has been going in twice a week from the start and hasn't had any pain at all beginning with the first cycle after she began treatments! It is totally amazing. She was on so many pain meds before, it was scary. I know that everyone responds at a different rate with acupuncture, but it's certainly worth a try. But, don't forget about dietary changes. My sister and I both use the listing in a book called Patient Heal Thyself by Jordan Rubin as a guide. There are things in there that he says are good to eat that I disagree with, so I elminate them, but like I said, we just use it as a guide. I know that many acupuncturists may have dietary suggestions as well. I am sure that someone here may well have great suggestions in addition to these. Some temporary pain relievers that also work well are massage and (THE BEST ONE) is hydrotherapy. An example is the Kohler Waters Spa in Kohler, WI. I brought my sister in there when she was in so much pain that she was sick to her stomach and couldn't even stand up straight AND taking Vicodin for the pain. She said that the entire time she was in the immersion tub and had a vichy massage (showers that rain on you while laying on a table) she had NO PAIN. http://www.destinationkohler.com/kws/water_bathing.html This only lasted for a couple hours afterward, but was a welcomed and a much needed break from the pain. I wish your friend luck and I hope you are able to to find more info to help her. Kelly herbal remedies , " Victoria S. Guest guest
I had endometreosis at 27 years old (3 years ago) and it was surgecly removed, they vaporized them off for the most port. I havent had any trouble since. I worry about it though, if it will come back or not but I guess I will deal with that when the time comes.
