Hello All!

I think this response might be a tad late, but I'd like to chime in

here anyways ;)... When my kitties and apartment got a flea

infestation, I used good old-fashioned borax and I added a few

important essential oils to it! They included Neem (which I noticed

doesn't get discussed much on this list, but I figured that's

because it's main use is as pest control), tea tree, eucalyptus,

citronella, and Texas cedarwood. I did not use this on the cats

themselves. I sprinkled this mixture onto the floor, swept it into

the carpet, let me say that fleas HATE it!! They were greatly

diminished the next day and by the 3rd day they were gone and have

not come back. As for the cats themselves, I used a flea comb which

was VERY effective! If you choose to do this, be sure to have a cup

or bowl full of soapy water handy so that you can dip the comb in it

to drown the fleas!

There is also a wonderful book I would like to recommend that

literally saved my cat's life! It is called " Dr. Pitcairn's

Complete Guide to Natural Health for Dogs and Cats " by none other

than Dr. Richard Pitcairn! He is a homeopathic vet and the book is

extremely informative. When the conventional vet told me I was

going to have to spend what could have been thousands of $$ (which I

don't have) or put her to sleep (!) my local homeopathic vet guided

me through this book to the parts that would be most useful for us

and although Lili hasn't fully recovered, she is getting more

healthy, has more energy and is alive!! I strongly recommend this

book to all the pet owners out there interested in natural and

effective remedies, diets, etc for their furry loved ones!

Well, I hope this post has been somewhat informative.

Peace to All,

Jamie Lynn
