I have been through this same thing multiple times and finally found effective

ways to help my cat! Cats needs to have an acidic urinary tract. What works

for me is, when I notice him straining or getting that look in his eyes, to

start giving him high doses of vitamin C powder every few hours until I notice

diharrea. This strongly increases urine flow. He will need LOTS of water

poured down his throat to flush out the crystals. The BEST thing is a product

called " tinkle tonic " made by Animals' Apawthecary. It is an herbal formula

made invented by a naturalpathic vet and it works fast! I stopped giving my

cat tap water because it was very alkaline. Instead he gets bottled water with

apple cider vinegar in it. This decreases the alkalinity of the water. In our

case, a raw diet did not help. Giving my cat raw fish immediately results in

straining so we now give him a low ash dry food and it works better. Good luck!
