I don't know if this was answered in full (Zeb most likely covered it in detail), but I also wanted to add my two cents to it.

Grains that have been sprouted (and their grasses) do not contain gluten, nor do they contain the enzyme inhibitors that celiacs are so sensitive to.

TOTAL NUTRITION IS PERFECTLY GOOD FOR CELIACS.

Best,

Herbal Remedies - Re: Ceiliac Disease (sp?)

Hi Karen, If she has Celiac Disease then she cannot have anything containing wheat, oats, rye or barley. So no, she cannot have the total nutrition formula.Leisa

What about autistic? I have a nephew who is autistic, and they are sensitive to

dairy and gluten. Autistic people are missing an enzyme and it turns gluten

into a form of morphine in their intestines. My nephew had huge problems until

they switched his diet, but it is really hard to keep him away from breads and

muffins. Would sprouting work for him too?

YES!!! The best would be FRESH HOME SPROUTED grains. Do it at home. They are alive from sunlight, water, air and warmth. That is energy that will break down in the body because it carries it's very own enzymes. So eat as much (or when juicing) as you like of the grasses and whatnot. Then next best is out Total Nutrition. For protein our total nutrition covers all aspects of the diet. But if you can juice as well as have a Total Nutrition then you'll be off to the races like a Thoroughbred!!! Honest. This IS the best solution. Fresh fruits and veggies are the best for snacks, sprout almonds and use instead of other nuts as they are a complete food in themselves. Celery sticks and such are fantastic. Most preservatives kill enzymes as a main function. So stay away from things that are packaged and last a long long time that are not dehydrated or simply salted. Anyway.... have you asked for Doc's free CD lecture yet? You should if you haven't.
