The stones I have seen all have aluminum. I actually bought several different ones a long time ago and THEN read them and found I just couldn't use them.

Hi Flo, The deodorant stones that I've seen have ammonium alum in them, not aluminum. They are not the same and the ingredient in the stones is not dangers. I asked this question on the group quite a while ago and some specifics on this was posted. You can find it in the archives.

Best,

Kelli

When I am not eating well, I smell. When I am eating a good organic

diet, mostly raw fruits and veggies, I don't smell. I think the best way

to prevent body odor is to do a cleanse. In the meantime, if you need

something stronger than one of the salt stones, then there are many

other herbal/natural products out there. I highly recommend NOT rubbing

petro-chemicals and heavy metals under your armits every day! LOL!! :)

We bought a deodorant stone years ago and several " natural " deodorants

with the alum as the main ingredient. They didn't work for 24 hours.

So as not to waste them, I put them on just before I get dressed in

the morning. By 7 p.m. they're usually " spent. " Waste not, want not.

Alum is an aluminum salt (aluminum sulfate). Aluminum salts are used in

the stones and in general antiperspirants because they are astringent

and reduce perspiration.
