An even more convincing reason Capitalists love deodorants & perfumes, to an even larger extent, is for hundreds of years it has been known that scent is one of the more subtle forms of manipulation. Covering up body odors is the least of the reasons. We have all been effected by perfumes. My earliest remembrances of women were how they smelled. And if that isn't enough the fast food burgermeisters best advertising on the boulevards is pumping out burger & fries smells.

I have been on the roofs of several & you would not believe how much soot & grease is up there.

My opinion is that the odors manipulate you into purchasing & to a Capitalist that is the goal & only goal, doesn't matter about the product.

The bee is lured to the rose by its bright color & smell.

In addition to the deodorant " rocks " , there are a couple of good

chemical-free deodorants that work well (at least, for me).

I use one by Real Purity (its a roll-on type)

Ingredients are: Purified water, plant extract of Cypress, Guar Gum,

Glycerine, Aloe, Sandlewood, & Lavender.

I tried one of the crystal rock types, but I like the above better...

just a matter of preference, I guess. Fortunately, one of our local

health food stores carries a full line of Real Purity products, but

they have a website you can order from too, if you are interested and

you can't find them locally....

If you want to go chem-free, its one of the few product lines I've

found here that are. (Even many of the health food store products

use petrochemical additives in them... preservatives and such)

I have no financial interest in the company...I just like their chem-

free stuff. :)

As with all the chem-free lines tho, its more expensive than those

made with all the cheap/toxic chemicals (which are waste by-products

from the petroleum and coal industries).

Here's one I might like to try.. I tried their nasal spray and it

seemed to help.. (I think they spelled deodorant incorrectly,

though.. : )
