Guest guest
The best organic coconut oil is from www.tropicaltraditions.com. They also make an organic expeller pressed coconut oil that is basically tasteless for those who don't like the coconut flavor. The site has recipes, books, tons of info. Coconut oil is really good for you, good for the liver. herbal remedies , " momanoon " <momanoon> wrote: > > > I am trying to eat the coconut oil in its purist form without cooking > it because I don't want to lose any of its nutrients, but pure > coconut oil taste aweful. > > Can someone make a suggestion on how I can eat it and make it taste > better? Guest guest
Several ways: Mix it into a fruit smoothie (I do this each morning) Mix it into a cup of tea (I mix it with hisbiscus tea in the pm) Mix it with almond butter and eat it with celery or apples. I haven't tried this because I'm not sure about it yet, but someone suggested mixing cinnamon and stevia with it and spreading it on toast. Hmmmm ... the smoothie and tea work fine for me. Let me know if you come up with another good alternative. Guest guest
my naturopath says to avoid coconut oil because it has bad cholesterol. I did a search in google about whether coconut oil is bad or good and I see that it's a controversial topic. My blood test shows that my body has too much bad cholesterol and not enough good cholesterol so I am choosing to avoid the coconut oil just to be safe. --- momanoon <momanoon wrote: > > > I am trying to eat the coconut oil in its purist > form without cooking > it because I don't want to lose any of its > nutrients, but pure > coconut oil taste aweful. > > Can someone make a suggestion on how I can eat it > and make it taste > better? > > > > > > > ===== If you want to earn alot of money with a $30 investment, go to this link. Guest guest
I understand why it is confusing. Coconut oil was thrown out with all the other oils, butter, and eggs. Since that time the " authorities " have one-by-one come back and said these foods are actually good for you. Margarine, corn oils, and other highly processed oils are detrimental to our health. There is a difference between good fats and bad fats. Once upon a time coconut oil was processed like margarine and it still gets a bum rap. Read some of the articles on this site and you'll see how it developed. It also includes some historical health references. http://www.coconutoil.com/ From personal experience I know that you can eat fats and have low cholesterol. The wrong food combinations will set you up for high cholesterol - for instance, eating high fat foods (meat or a creamy sauce) and starch (pasta) is one bad combination / meat and white bread as in the average deli sandwich is another. herbal remedies , ednja <ednja> wrote: > > my naturopath says to avoid coconut oil because it has > bad cholesterol. Guest guest
We are from Kerala State in Southern mostIndia where the total population of 31 million people use coconut oil for all their cooking needs and for applying on hair and body. The headquarters of Indian Government's Coconut Development Board is also situated in Kochi (formerly Cochin) city of Kerala. We produce 60 % of India's coconuts. We are followers of Ayurveda which is a health science with atleast 3000 years history. In certain preparations like " avial " we use raw coconut oil.Avial is a mixer of vegetable pieces and scraped coconut cooked with turmeric, curry leaves and green chillies. When all the vegetables get cooked coconut oil is poured and mixed. --- Tonya Wiersch <tonya wrote: > You could try putting it in a smoothie. > > > momanoon [momanoon] > Wednesday, March 02, 2005 8:36 AM > herbal remedies > Herbal Remedies - Coconut Oil - How to eat > it > > > > > I am trying to eat the coconut oil in its purist > form without cooking > it because I don't want to lose any of its > nutrients, but pure > coconut oil taste aweful. > > Can someone make a suggestion on how I can eat it > and make it taste > better? > > Federal Law requires that we warn you of the > following: > 1. Guest guest
I spread it on spelt crackers. What brand are you using? I use Omega Nutrition and I really like it, even better than Tropical Traditions. It is smooth and creamy and does not smell or taste of coconut at all. Now, I don't mind coconut, but a little goes a long way for me! The first brand I bought was truly nasty; it separated and smelled and tasted of something industrial! ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ Amanda Canfield -God grades on the cross, not on the curve. -Anonymous John 3:36: " He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
