JG,

In order to extract essential oils from herbs, or whatever, you must use

either a steam distiller, or use some type of solvent extraction. Either

method isn't cost effective. You must either grow the herbs and such

yourself, and use a distiller.....or try solvent extraction, which isn't

easy.

If Doc doesn't mind...I can post a link to a distiller, and other

information that will help you in your quest.

If you want a cost effective way to add some 'essential oils' to the air in

your home, you can take your herbs and boil them on the stove. :) As the

water evaporates into the air, it will take the essential oils from the

herbs, and they will evaporate into the air as well.

Hope this helps you a bit, and like I said, if Doc doesn't mind, I can send

links to more information for you as well.

Hi Candy,

Per the advertising policy, " I don't mind if a list member posts a URL

to a website where some pertinent " ON TOPIC " information can be found,

AS LONG AS THAT LIST MEMBER DOES NOT OWN THE SITE, FOR THEN IT BECOMES

PERSONAL ADVERTISING. "

So, feel free to post the information you have as long as you are not

selling your own wares. :)

Best,

Thanks Kelli....that's why I asked. ;) No, I do not own the websites, or

sell anything like this, but I have researched it....because I would like to

distill my own essential oils someday! ;)

So here are the links, since you've given the A-OK.

http://www.heartmagic.com/EssentialDistiller.html Here's one home distiller

unit for Essential Oils.

http://www.av-at.com/stovestill2.html This is another unit for distillation

of EO's. It's larger, and can produce larger amounts of essential oils.

If you are wanting essential oils simply for fragrance, you can infuse oils

to make like a perfume!

If you need further information, let me know, and I will be more than happy

to give you more information!

HTH a bit!
