Guest guest
I'm just curious, as I am a newbie to the whole herbal treatment idea... what do you keep on hand to deal with allergies and cold/flu viruses and things like that? I understand that the whole idea is to change your way of life so that your immune system prevents sickness, but for those of us who haven't completed that changeover yet... I have 2 children so have to deal with 'bugs' brought home from school and new teeth and things like that... I suffer from seasonal allergies... What would you not do without? Guest guest
Goldenseal. Definately. Especially when it comes to the everyday nicks, cuts, scrapes, scratches, and the like. I've used it on a minor burn on my hand (topside) I rec'd while I was cooking. I cant remember what I did; I remember tho, it hurt. Mostly it stung. I mixed a good-sized pinch of goldenseal powder into a small spoonful of bag balm and rubbed it on my hand. I don't have a scar. It makes a good quick inexpensive healing mouthwash in a pinch too. herbal remedies , " Tracy in Ohio " <tltucker@v...> wrote: > > > I'm just curious, as I am a newbie to the whole herbal treatment > idea... what do you keep on hand to deal with allergies and cold/flu > viruses and things like that? Guest guest
Hi Tracy, Doc has an article, that doesn't seem to be in the files, regarding the basics needed for your " medicine cabinet " and why. It's really good. I'll see if I can dig that up for you. There is another article in the files, though, that might be of interest: under Files>Articles>18 Ways to Lead a Healthier Life. Personally, I don't travel without - echinacea (immune booster if you " feel something coming on " ), total tonic (the all natural anti-biotic, anti-viral, anti-fungal and anti-parasite that I take every day regardless), lobelia (good for any sort of breathing problems, and used for emergency treatment of seizures) and cayenne (good for circulation, and used for emergency treatment of heart attacks). Hope this helps! Guest guest
Kelli, I would love to have that too! Guest guest
Personally, I don't travel without - echinacea (immune booster if you " feel something coming on " ), ============================================== What have you personally noticed echinacea doing for you? Does it consistently nip your oncoming colds/flues in the bud? ......total tonic (the all natural anti-biotic, anti-viral, anti-fungal and anti-parasite that I take every day regardless) ============================================== What has happened to you personally before you took took total tonic? What happens to you personally when you stop taking it? ...........lobelia (good for any sort of breathing problems, and used for emergency treatment of seizures) ============================================== What is your personal experience, either for you or someone you know personally, with taking Lobelia? and cayenne (good for circulation, and used for emergency treatment of heart attacks). ================================================== Have you ever used cayenne during a heart attack or do you personally know someone who took it during a heart attack? Hi, I'm new here, and I read most of the initial files and was excited that for a rare change, I might get to hear from people talking from their own personal experience about different herbs or health practices. I do see a little of that here and there but not nearly as much as I anticipated. I let established medicine preach to me from their " superior " position of knowledge and I paid the price. Never again -- and that includes all health advice that does not come from true and tried personal experience. Celebrate 's 10th Birthday!
