Guest guest
This response was an answer to the question " Do you think ADD is a disease? " Considering that I am classified as ADD, and for me sitting for an hour to type is a reason to celebrate and play a game of pac-man, I'm not sure if I have an objective point of view. In my opinion, taking a vaguely associated group of symptoms and naming them does not a disease make. I defeat my " ADD symptoms " by will power. I understand that as a responsible person, I have tasks that need to be done and I will achieve them. I understand that using the ADD crutch does not make me any less responsible for those tasks. For that reason, I do not think that ADD is a disease, nor do I think that popping a pill who's side effects " May cause death " create a situation in which the benefits outweigh the risks. I also have a son that would be classified as ADHD. Except that both his and my " symptoms " are controllable by diet. The closer we get to processed sugar, the worse we get. Sure I have to try harder to do some things, people have different talents in this world.
