Guest guest
Hello everyone, My name is Michelle, I have been lurking for a bit and thought I might be able to take part in this conversation. I have a 9 yr old son who has been labelled as ADHD by the doctors a few years ago and his school tried to force me into putting him on drugs. I have not put him on drugs but I do know his symptoms are worse with things he eats. I have done alot of research on this subject, and I put him on the Feingold diet (lots of cooking from scratch for me) a year ago and he is doing much better. One of his problems is that he has had a problem with candidia (sp?) since he was born (lots of yeast infections in the diaper area). And he also is very sensitive to the following salicylates, benzoates, sulfites, among alot of other preservatives and dyes in foods and non-food items. So if your kids are labelled as ADHD I would check into their diets as a starting point. Thanks for letting me jump into this conversation and good luck to all the kids with problems. Michelle G.
