Guest guest
my daughter is being labeled by her teachers as ADD. they did the survey that i took to her doctor who has seen her all her life. He says that he can't diagnose her but feels that the school is trying to label her> he feels that it is NOT ADD but that she is bored. what he has diagnosed her for is Irritable bowl syndrome from stress and social anxiety. He believes also that most kids who have the symptoms of ADD are highly gifted. and because of this they get restless and bored easy. also they don't learn in the same manner as most school settings provide them. I have told her teachers that even "IF" she is ADD i will not drug her so that she will become a zombie that performs like a little monkey, Stepford Child for them I am reading a great book called " The myth of the ADD child" by Thomas Armstrong. it is giving me some great ideas and insight on how to help my child empower herself. just my 2 cents- amber All your favorites on one personal page – Try My
Guest guest
This is absolutely true. And a whole generation of kids are coming through these days that are not only highly gifted, but rebels, and will refuse to conform to society's brainwashing. It's easier for schools and parents to drug them into conformity than to let them be the free beings they are and learn how to deal with it. 8-( Sharyn, who did not allow her child to be "diagnosed" and drugged amber motta [emberfire2000] He believes also that most kids who have the symptoms of ADD are highly gifted. and because of this they get restless and bored easy. also they don't learn in the same manner as most school settings provide them.
