Lemon Egg Feedback please

Just wondering what the result should be of the lemon egg recipe that

was posted a while ago.

Instead of using whole eggs, I used only egg shells only.

Covered them with freshly squeezed lemon juice, put in the fridge for

48 hours, shook from time to time, and watched to science experiment

take place...

Then:

During the 48 hour " cooking " period in the fridge, it was pretty scary

looking in the jar much like looking at a stalagmite cave.

The lemon seemed to extract all the color out of the brown shells,

turning them a pale cream color.

There is lots of thick white pasty stuff at the bottom of the jar.

I think some of the brown color of the exterior of the brown eggshells

attached itself to some of the juiced lemon pieces making it look

quite gross.

After the 48 hour " cooking " period, I removed the very soft eggshells,

and strained the balance which has turned out to be a slightly thick

very light lemon color liquid.

(couple hours later) I have just checked it out again, and the yellowy

creamy stuff has settled to the bottom half of the jar, and there is

clear liquid on the top half.

Is this the desired outcome?

Thank you in advance for your feedback.

If you stir it up, it should mostly look like a white

paste. Some of the brown pigment stays attached. I wouldn’t

strain it, I just drink it all down. Tastes fine.

You could use a mixture of water and grapefruit seed extract, it's

supposed to be a great antibiotic from a plant source.. vinegar

might interfere with the calcium leaching process.. ?

Hi Debbie:

I don't worry much about bacteria.

I get my eggs from friends are meet my standards for cleanliness. My

eggs arrive clean because upon collecting eggs, they rinse them under

running water to remove straw and other stuff. Once I get them, I

never wash them after that.
