Peace to everyone,

I recently completed the 10 day lemonade fast of Dr. Stanley Burroughs. I followed each instruction in detail and i'm pretty satisfied with the results. The only problem that i cee myself having right now is the way i'm eating now.

This was the first time i ever tried it, and the problem i'm having is that i seem to be eating in excess too often. Now i'm in nooo means overweight. I'm in very good physical shape from my own standards, i exercise regularly. I've been a vegetarian months before i began the cleanse, so getting back to that routine of eating isn't difficult. I'm slowly eliminating dairy from my diet, and i'm exclusively eating organic fruits, vegetables, and grains. It's strange because, i've been feeling hungry when i'm already full. I also, because of my schedule with school and work, i find myself eating full meals later at night then i want to. I hate goin' to sleep with that fullness feeling and i've tried very hard to avoid it.

Does anyone know what may be causing this.?? Could it be my body trying to make up for lost time..?? Has anyone who's done this cleanse ever experienced this.??

I'd greatly appreciate some input.

Peace

I had a similar experience as a vegetarian without the cleanse. It was because

of the

carbohydrates, sugar. When they process in your body they leave you wanting

more, like

an addiction. You need to check your protein intake and make sure you are

getting some

form of protein every 4 hours or so. This will create the necessary nitrogen to

offset the

sugar imbalance.

Hello Natural Game,

I applaud you on your quest to purify your body, but I think your

problem is that you have depleted your reserves to a " famine " state.

When this happens, your body will go into overdrive to stimulate the

appetite and, most of the food you ingest will be converted to fat

storage to help protect against the " false famine " that you have

inadvertantly established. This is the rebound effect that happens

to most people when they use fad diets, or fasts that don't also

incorporate replenishing nutrients to the body.

My first red flag goes up on the combination of herbs that your

herbalist told you to take. You should not consume a combination of

adrenal herbs and then immediately go on a fast, this will overly

deplete the body. Also, any herbalist that does not give you a

complete, long term approach to your health is not doing you

justice. Especially, if you returned to this person with problems

after following their advice, then they should have offered follow-up

care without charging you again!

I also have to question you, as to whether you disclosed to your

herbalist that you were going to go on this fast? The quick fix,

take a few pills (whether herbal or not), go on a fast, life will be

better, concept HAS TO END. DON'T MISCONTRUE my intention here, as I

know you have been on this fast for weeks, but IT JUST DOES NOT WORK

THAT WAY! You have to understand that your body will REVOLT! You

will experience some very dramatic, if not even frightening outcomes

which you are experienceing a few of them now. You cannot fast for

that period of time without replenishing the body, which is where

most fasts fall short. A beneficial fast should last no longer than

24 hours. If you go beyond this, then the body will start to draw

essential minerals from the bones, which, over a course of several

years, will lead to Osteoporosis.

My personal opinion is that since you have already gone thru the hard

part, then don't back-track. I know you are having cravings to

overeat, or, maybe to even eat the foods you have already eliminated

from your diet. Do not give in to these cravings. I suggest an

herbal blend that you can brew as a tea in the morning, and then

consume thru the day to help get you thru the cravings AND build your

depleted body. This is my own blend that i developed and I don't

suggest that you change any of the ingredients because they each have

a supportive role in the blend. I would also suggest that you DO NOT

take any other herbal remedies while you are trying to re-establish

your system. Since I do not know if you are taking any prescription

drugs, or if anyone reading this post is taking any drugs, then, I

must caution you to be careful. Many drugs re-act to herbal

therapies and I do not want anyone to have a bad

outcome...therefore...if you are currently taking any prescriptions

please consult your doctor or consult a Naturopath before continuing

with any natural therapy. You must also continue to eat a ORGANIC

diet, whether vegetarian or not. The most important factor is that

you eliminate all chemical residues, and that you eliminate all

processed foods, converting to a whole food diet is the best chance

to overcome dis-ease!

Lori's Build Tea

(As far as measurements go: each measurement of this tea is listed as

a part. A part is a dry measurement of your choice, i.e. it could

mean a cup ( or parts of a cup, such as 1/2 cup), a teaspoon, or a

tablespoon, just be consistent and use the same measurement for each

ingredient. It is a dry weight, and is measured by volume not

weight. Just be sure to measure EVERY ingredient using the same form

of measurement)

2 parts stinging nettle

1 part oat straw

1 part alfalfa leaf

1 part raspberry leaf

1 part german chamomile flowers

1 part spearmint leaf

Mix all toghter. One teaspoon of the blended herbs per 6 ounces of

water is the proper infusion. Bring the water to a slow boil first,

then remove from the heat source and add the herbs. Allow to steep

for at least ten minutes, then strain thru a fine mesh sieve into a

heat resistant vessel, such as a thermos. Drink 4 -5 cups per day to

restore levels of vitamins and minerals to the blood stream. After

the re-cuperation period, dis-continue this tea and switch to a

maintenence formula. Good luck and Warm regards, Lori
