Guest guest
Hi I have been devouring all the posts and have read through most (not all - yet..) of Doc's files. There is a lot of discussion about eating sprouted food and enzymes but I cannot find source information to start me off Lisa mentioned in another post about ash foods and enzyme foods? Can somebody explain the difference and what is good and what is bad? Why is Soy bad? I note that a lot of people are not fans and wonder why I know that I need to change my eating habits but I am not sure where to start. I want to eat optimally but also don;t have a lot of spare time to fuss with preperation - I do love cooking though so that should be a bonus. Are there any reccomendations on books I shoud read to get me started on optimal eating for life? Something with all the info I need and some recipes. Is anyone prepared to give me an example of what a typical day of food is for them? I'm also interested in how people felt before and after changing their eating plan As I have posted before - I need to lose weight, have endometriosis and PCOS and suspect a thyroid condition (hypo). I'm getting the thyroid tested this week so should have something next week Sincemy original post I have given up coffee as a start and have green tea instead - love my herbal teas also so have kept them up I have been having my total nutrition (i bought a copycat type one here in Australia) in a smoothie in the morning with raspberries and banana - is that OK OK - I should stop with the questions - I have heaps more but might wait for responses Thanks everyone I really appreciate the advice you all offer - there are loads of knowledgeable and generous people on this group Cindy
Guest guest
Hi Cindy, I recommend two books: 1) Rainbow Green Live Food Cuisine - by Gabriel Cousens 2) The Body Ecology Diet - Donna Gates Two excellent books with an amazing amount of information to help support a healthy lifestyle and solid information to help you make confident choices in your foods. There are several to support anyone interested in adding more raw foods to their diet. You can ask questions and people are very supportive and helpful. More often than not, soy is genetically modified. So when choosing soy products make sure you are at least purchasing those that read on the label " no GMO " or not genetically modified. I feel the best source for soy are the fermented soy products. I stay away from soy because I am estrogen dominant and soy has estrogenic properties which can increase estrogen in the body. I have hypothyroid symptoms so I eat accordingly which means I avoid foods like raw cabbage and broccoli (cruciferous vegetables) and a add SMALL amounts of sea vegetables; too many can actually slow the thyroid down. I belong to a free support group for compulsive eaters called HOW. It has helped me dramatically. Even though I was eating healthfully, I would still overeat which put undo amounts of stress on my body. I wasn't terribly over weight, maybe 20 lbs, but the negative affects were what I believed cause my hormonal imbalance and resulted in my adrenal fatigue and hypothryoid symptoms. Today I can gratefully say that my health is improving daily and my life is so much more enjoyable. Good luck! *Brigitte On Feb 2, 2005, at 5:48 AM, herbal remedies wrote: > > Message: 15 > Wed, 02 Feb 2005 00:39:56 -0000 > " cindyelwyn " <cindyelwyn > A lot of questions re eating habits > > > > Hi > > I have been devouring all the posts and have read through most (not > all - yet..) of Doc's files.
