Guest guest
Hi everyone. I am new to this list, but not new to herbs. I have been reading Doc's notes and wanted to clarify his correct concerns about toxicity of colloidal silver. Most people don't know that there are 2 kinds of silver on the market, ionic (like ions) and atomic (like in atoms). Doc, you are correct that the more common silver, ionic silver, usually sold in low ppm's (parts per million) can build up to toxic levels in the liver. Toxicity shows in the skin turning a grayish color, not easily removed once there. These very commercial silver products are usually found in 10-25ppm formulas. Atomic silver is used for more serious immune dysfunctions, like cancer, pneumonia, etc. This silver is found at 250-1000ppm and you cannot overdose on these products. I am using a 500ppm formula to treat Valley Fever (Coccidiomycosis), giving large doses over a long period of time to my 2 beagles with this fungus dis-ease. We have their livers checked in bloodwork every 2 months and there is no problem. Had I been using the typical ionic silver we would not have been able to use as much or gotten such good results. There is a big difference in products on the market. Knowledge is power. Sheila
