Guest guest
Hello all, I am now the proud owner of an ulcer. Since I'm not a fan of doubling over in pain, I would like to know if there is anything I can do to deal with my new friend? Guest guest
Hi Shelby, I had acid reflux for a long time and still struggle with it at times. Here is what I did to really help the problem. For overall health and to help heal the gut use a quality digestive enzyme and probiotic. To help with the symptoms and pain I used slippery elm and marshmallow root...they will help to coat your stomach and allow healing to begin. I also used licorice root, but you can't use that long term as it can cause high blood pressure. I also drank organic aloe Vera juice which will help the stomach heal and coat it from the painful acids. I juiced fresh veggie and fruit juice daily for about six months. When I started juicing this was what got me off medication immediately and I used all the other stuff to help when needed, but I did drink aloe juice daily. I have read many times that cabbage juice is the ultimate in healing an ulcer, but have never tried this myself. Avoiding alcohol and coffee can help, also stuff like Advil and other over the counter anti-inflammatory medication can cause a great deal stomach problems...that is how it started with me. I had no stomach problems when I juiced daily. But now that I only juice a couple of time a week or less, I do get discomfort from time to time. I think I caused a lot of damage to my stomach by using anti inflammatory daily for other pains I was having at the time. I forgot to mention that the reason juicing helps is because it alkalizes the body and anytime you have an ulcer you are overly acidic especially in the stomach. An easily digestible diet for the time being would help your stomach go a long way in healing itself...food like freshly made vegetable soups. Anything that is difficult to digest in going to cause the stomach acids to really bother the ulcer. It is no fun, I was so sick with this for a long time and then found a way to help myself. I know that the pain is horrible...sorry you have to go through this! Hope this helps! Guest guest
I had bleeding ulcers for years until I started to take enzymes. I take a product called Purify by enzymedica and contains Protease and other things. This blend breaks down protein invaders leaving them vulnerable to the immune system. I'm not very familiar with making your own stuff so I have to get it from the vitamin store. I hope it helps. MarcShelby Blakely <sblakely wrote: Hello all,I am now the proud owner of an ulcer. Guest guest
Shelby- Slippery Elm inner bark will help heal and sooth your ulcer. Intestinal Cleanse formula #2 is a great way to get the full cleansing effect, it has slippery elm inner bark as an ingredient...also if you have some heartburn/acid reflux take a shot of organic apple cider vinegar. My roommate had some bad heartburn the other night and he said the ACV worked like a charm....hope this helps....
