Guest guest
Having done the Master Cleanser aka the lemonade diet several times I wanted to share something. First, I do like it because it really motivated me to move to a more healing raw diet. HOWEVER, my last experience taught me a great deal about health and cleansing. Prior to doing my last Master Cleanser I had several tests done, blood, saliva & hair analysis. They all revealed imbalances and deficiencies. Because I hoped to get back to a more healthful diet, I started another cleanse for the fall. What ended up happening was that my stresses, along with my deficiencies resulted in me overeating and overeating improperly after the master cleanse. My cravings were just over the top. My body was telling me before starting the cleanse that I needed rejuvenate NOT deplete, but by simply drinking the lemonade with no other nutrients, my reserves ran out. It was a very good lesson. During my other cleanses I was moved to eating only pure simple foods afterwards. This time around, I was driven to all the wrong foods. My hormones were already imbalanced and this just made it worse. My suggestion if you are considering do this or any cleanse, is to prepare your body appropriately. Make sure you are not too weak. I believe cleanses and fasts can truly help a person heal, but if done in a way that supports that person's particular constitution. When the digestive system is given time to rest, the energy is now moved to other areas of the body to heal and repair. Like I said, I had excellent results with previous master cleanses. It is a very spiritual cleanse as well. Good luck, hope this give you some awareness. peace & joy, *Brigitte On Jan 24, 2005, at 2:58 AM, herbal remedies wrote: > Message: 1 > Sun, 23 Jan 2005 03:45:05 -0800 (PST) > " R.L. Guest guest
Peace Brigitte, I'm currntly doing the Master Cleanse and i'm on my 8th day. I absolutely feel great right now also. I've been inquiring to speak to any and everyone who has done the cleanse to learn from their experiences FOLLOWING the cleanse. Because while i do see the many benefits it has internally on the body, i Know that the most critical part of the cleanse is coming off of it. I don't want to just overfill my body with everything i was trying to get rid of. I wanna take better care of it. So with that said, what kinds of foods were you giving your self that caused the problem for you>?? And which times when you did the cleanse did you not experience those problems.?? What is your diet like now.?? How did it change..?? What type of deficiencies came up when you were finished with the diet.?? I need to Know the simplest way to incorporate an all raw food diet, because it seems like it's a lot more complicated than it is. I do consume raw fruits and veggies, and i juice them often, but i want to be able to expand on that and get into making my own raw butter, cookies, cakes, muffins, bread, etc. using only raw, natural ingredients. Any thoughts.?? Guest guest
Coming of the diet the right way is important. I've typed out the following excerpt from the book because it seems some people on the forum may be doing the diet without having benefit of all his information. You can be " very " uncomfortable if you don't come off of it slowly. If you are trying to lose weight with this, don't do the diet again right away - wait at least 3 months (6 is better). You can gain weight back quickly if you're body hasn't had time to adjust. Excerpt from: " The Master Cleanser " by Stanley Burroughs pg. 24 How to Break the Lemonade Diet coming off the lemonade diet properly is highly important - please follow the directions very carefully. After living in a semi- tropical and tropical climate for many years, I find that people have increasingly turned to a raw fruit, nut, and vegetable diet Following is the schedule for poeple who normally follow such a natural vegetarian diet: First and Second Day after the diet: Several 8 oz. glasses of fresh organge juice as desired during the day. The orange juice prepares the digestive system to properly digest and assimilate regular food. Drink it slowly. If there has been any digestie difficulty prior to or during the change over, extra water may be taken with the orange juice. Third Day: Orange juice in the morning. Raw fruit for lunch. Fruit or raw vegetable salad at night. You are now ready to eat normally. For those who have characteristically lived the unnatural way of meat, milk, refined and devitalized food, it may be best to change over as follows, gradually adopting the raw fruit, nut, and vegetable diet. First Day: Several 8 oz glasses of fresh orange juice as desired during the day. Drink it slowly. Second Day: Drink several 8 oz glasses of orange juice during the day - with extra water, if needed. Some time during the afternoon prepare a vegetable soup (no canned soup) as follows: Recipe for Vegetable Soup: Use several kinds of vegetables, perhaps one or two kinds of legumes, potatoes, celery, carrots, green vegetable tops, onion, etc. Dehydrafted vegetables or vegetable soup owders may be added for etra flavor. Okra or okra powder, chili, curry, cayenne pepper, tomatoes, green peppers, and zucchini squash may be included to good advatnage. Brown rice may be used, but no meat or meat stock. Other spices may be added (delicately) for flavor. Use salt deliately as a liited amount of slat is necessary. learn to enjoy the natural flavor of the vegetables. The less cooking the better. Have this soup for the vening meal using the broth mostly, although some of the vegetables may be eaten. rye wafers may be eaten sparingly with the soup, but no bread or crackers. Third Day: Drink orange juice in the morning. At noon hae some more soup; enough may be made the night before and put in the refrigerator. For the evening meal eat whatever is desired in the form of vegetables, salads, or fruit. No meat, fish, or eggs; no bread, pastries, tea, coffee, or milk. Milk i hihgly mucos-forming and tends to develop toxins throughout the body. Fourth Day: Normal eating may be resumed, but best health will be retained if the norning meal consists of our type of lemonade or fruit juice; and, of course, if a strictly fruit, vegetable, seed and berry diet is followed. if, after eating is resume, distress or gas ocurs, it is suggested that the lemonade diet be continued for several more days until the system is ready for food. herbal remedies , natural game <mathmasta1111001> wrote: > Peace Brigitte, > > I'm currntly doing the Master Cleanse and i'm on my 8th day. Guest guest
Dear Natural Game, My first suggestions is to be VERY gentle with yourself during this time. Try to avoid as much stress as possible and give yourself as much peace and quiet time as possible if you are a tv watcher avoid tv. If you live in a city, avoid driving. Walk, get out in nature, journal, meditate, dance, get connected with your body, etc... For me, all I wanted to do was put healing, raw enzyme rich foods into it. And in transition back to eating I chose to eat small. I prayed that I would be able to follow my inner wisdom and not be compelled to over eat even " healthy " foods. The time before my last MC was like this. Very peaceful, very serene, very nurturing. Because I was undergoing a lot of stress, stressful people, stressful situations, etc... I should not have embarked on another cleanse. I was just stripping myself rather than allowing for a rebuilding and healing. The best way to return to eating is as they say in the book. A day or two of organic fresh squeezed orange juice. Then gentle raw foods, no nuts or heavy fats. I would even lay off of avocado in the beginning. If can think about your liver and digestive system a little, kind of picture the foods going in and what you can imagine would be the least stressful. I would also limit intake of fruits because you do not want to create a candida situation. I recommend looking into 3 books 1) Rainbow Green Live Food Cuisine by Gabriel Cousens - It will give you a tremendous amount of knowledge and help you make choices that will help your inner ecology and prevent any sort of imbalance. 2) The Body Ecology Diet by Donna Gates- Another great book to help you make choices to rejuvenate your inner ecology. 3) David Jubb has a book that has slipped my memory but it to is a very supportive book. It wasn't what I was eating that caused my problem after the Master Cleanse it was that it wasn't the proper time or place for me to be doing a cleanse. My body wasn't strong enough and there was far too much stress around me. I didn't have a chance to be peaceful and allow the cleanse to help me rejuvenate. I am able to say that my experience was needed in order to give me better perspective and to offer others the knowledge and wisdom I gained. I am learning the importance of balance. Prior to embarking on the MC I was raw vegan, but I was consuming too many things that I knew were not agreeing with my system. Too many nut products and too many fats. My body needs simpler foods and very little sugar. A raw diet is very difficult for me because where I live, there are TONS of prepared raw foods and treats. When I was on the road with my dogs last spring after my second to last master cleanse. I had peace with foods and was eating very simply because my choices were limited. Having an abundance of " fancy " raw foods just creates havoc because often they are combined improperly, contain too many nuts, or are just too sweet. After I did the MC last time in the fall, I needed to practice balance, but wasn't able to at the time. Now I have much more support in my life and am very much working towards better health and higher consciousness. I have also had to alter my diet quite a bit because I needed to eat high protein low glycemic foods. I have to stay away from any foods and herbs that have estrogenic qualities because I am estrogen dominant. This makes my food choices even more limited. I reluctantly had to start eating animal products and had to make peace with that, but ever since I have been feeling much better. My body just needed this kind of protein and i was unable to consume soy because of it estrogenic effects. Balance. Pray for balance. Read Gabriel Cousens' book. Be gentle. Make honest food choices and seek support if you need to. Curezone, com has a lot of message boards and a lot of activity in their Master Cleanse section. BUT PLEASE (AND THIS IS DIRECTED TO EVERYONE) DO NOT JUST JUMP INTO SOMETHING BECAUSE IT SOUNDS GOOD, MAKE SURE YOUR BODY AND MIND ARE ABLE TO EMBRACE HEALINGS HEALTHFULLY AND NOT OBSESSIVELY BECAUSE YOU CAN CREATE SERIOUS PROBLEMS AND IMBALANCES FOR YOURSELF LANDING YOU IN A WORSE PLACE THEN WHEN YOU STARTED. The reason I keep bringing up Gabriel Cousens' book is because there is a lot of excellent information and guidance on rebuilding and cleansing without having to fast. Donna's book is great for rebuilding and cleansing too. Good luck peace & joy, *Brigitte On Jan 25, 2005, at 5:03 AM, herbal remedies wrote: > Peace Brigitte, > > I'm currntly doing the Master Cleanse and i'm on my 8th day.
