Guest guest
Yesterday I attended a sweat lodge. We did 4 round which lasted about 2-1/2 hours. We cooled down pretty well in between rounds (sometimes we don't), but we were going from extreme hot to cold for that time period. It wasn't freezing outside, but it was very cold. I usually flush when I get hot or when I get hot and exert myself. But last night was different - I came out looking like a patchwork quilt or rather like someone had taken a red pen and outlined all my veins. They were NOT swollen. But, more than just blotchy. I was wearing a tank top and only the exposed skin looked this way. I am also very fair skinned, but so were others there and they didn't have this reaction. I am " assuming " that this happened because of my veins couldn't expand and contract quickly enough?? Could it have something to do with oxygen? I don't know. I felt fine and wasn't weak or dizzy or anyhthing. Just normal and sweaty. Most of it went away in an hour or so, but there were still spots that were fading a couple of hours afterwards. Can anyone tell me why this happens? Is it an indication that I have a weak vascular system or something?
