Guest guest
hi everyone its me androshi` ok well i have been reading everyones post about coconut milk and just want to put in my 2 cents about the coconut oil. its really easy to make .all you have to do is take the coconut meat and shred it. then add water into a big pot with a lid , always put more water than coconut meat -say 75% water and 25 % coconut meat - then let simmer- not boil -because what you doing is extracting the oil- after say about 1 hour of simmering ,turn off the flame -dont open the lid- not until its cold again- the reason why i say this is because you might let the steam out " with the oil " -so leave it until its cold- now put this mixture in a strainer -strain it- set aside the meat from the water - put the water in the freezer - you see oil and water dont mix!- they seperate and by putting the mixture in the freezer this will seperate the two and all you do is skim the harden surface, which is the oil
Guest guest
While this may work, it may not be as high in " good Oils " as expeller pressed. I buy organic coconut oil and find this is much easier and its pure, cold expeller pressed not steamed or checmical distilled. The same is true for the coconut milk, whenever possible, i try not to blanche the back peel off and opt for using a vegitable peeler to remove any leftover bits, so i end up with fresh RAW " milk " . You can freeze it, i have done this for use later if i am not able to use it all fresh within 2 days (or so i have some when i cant get fresh coconuts Sylvia herbal remedies , " Monchello Androshi " <warlocke_rising> wrote: > > > hi everyone > > its me androshi` > > ok well i have been reading everyones post about coconut milk > > and just want to put in my 2 cents about the coconut oil. > > its really easy to make .all you have to do is take the coconut meat > > and shred it. then add water into a big pot with a lid , always put > more water than > > coconut meat -say 75% water and 25 % coconut meat - > > then let simmer- not boil -because what you doing is extracting the oil- > > after say about 1 hour of simmering ,turn off the flame -dont open the > > lid- not until its cold again- the reason why i say this is because you > > might let the steam out " with the oil " -so leave it until its cold- > > now put this mixture in a strainer -strain it- set aside the meat > > from the water - put the water in the freezer - > > > you see oil and water dont mix!- they seperate and by putting the > > mixture in the freezer this will seperate the two and all you do is > > skim the harden surface, which is the oil
