Hi all! I found the magic cure for fleas. I am in Louisiana so as you might guess we have fleas, ticks, skeeters and everything year round with exception of a couple days that get frigid (like now).

I boil a quart of distilled water in a stainless steel five quart pot (deeeeeep pot) and take five large organic lemons, slice them thinly and ..Pay Attention here...

the water is at a rolling boil by the time I finish slicing the lemons. I slide them from the edge of the plate into the water and turn off the burner. Put a lid on top of the pot ands leave it sit there, covered for 24 hours. Do not actually boil the lemons or it will make the juice an irritant to the doggies.

I then strain it into a glass container and refrigerate. I put a bit in a stainless pot and warm (to skin comfort temps) over fire, use a sponge and squeeze it all over my dog and rub it in (not hard, just to penetrate to the skin) all over. Careful around the eyes.

The lemonine (or is it lemonene?) in the lemon water repels fleas and mosquitoes, and it also stops the itching immensely. I have to apply every 48-72 hours but it is not that much trouble.

But we finally kicked booty on the fleas! And no more rocking house from a bunch of scratching dogs.

Credit: I found this recipe in Dr Pitcairn's Complete Guide to Natural Health for Dogs and Cats, by Dr. Richard Pitcairn.

(my dog's cataract is less than half the size it was due to following this natural health book for dogs) and there is no more inflammation. Yippee!!!!

Love,

Flo
