Guest guest
Thanks for posting this... My sympathies and best wishes to the moms and kids who have o deal with molluscum contagiosum, it sounds like no fun whatsoever. After doing a little more research yesterday and this morning I realized it is a very unlikely diagnosis for me. The lesions in molluscum are " growths " akin to warts whereas what I have are red itchy swellings or " wheals, " i.e., hives, I guess. I think I was misled by the pix of hives that you can find with the Web search engines, which seem to mostly show advanced cases where the hives have run together and formed large red patchy areas. So I am back to looking for an allergy suspect here (and displaying my usual talent for developing medical problems around holidays when the ER is the only option). I'm struggling not to be nervous about this because I know it will make the hives worse, or even fool me into thinking I'm going into anaphylaxis. Yesterday I ate a few cashews again, which I hadn't for quite some time, and about an hour later I had a brand new cluster of FIVE hives on my thigh. So no more nuts or seeds for a while. (I had been eating a lot of pumpkin seeds in my salads lately.) Hopefully the EOs are not to blame, but I'll be sticking with plain soap for a while too, and I bought some " sensitive care " laundry soap for the weekend chores. Might gamble on some homeopathic self-treatment... it works so well for my cats. In fact, right now my oldest is recovering nicely from an anal sac abscess thanks to Hepar sulph. Thank goodness I have a professional homeopath for the cats, I really need to find one for me too A , Ellis <o2bnellis> wrote: > > Here is some info on the virus mentioned earlier. I have two children who currently carry it. We were told by the Dr that the treatment here is to get rid of the 'seed' before it bursts spreading the virus. The best description I can give is pimple-like. It just doesn't have the swelling or redness. It has taken about 3-5 weeks for the old bumps to mature enough to get the seeds out and then about a week later a new one will pop up. Hope this helps someone. > >

Guest guest
Hello all!! My little girl (4yo) has molluscum contagiosum and has had it for over a year. The virus is spreading along the side of her torso and in her arm pit. Her MD recommended freezing off the little bumps. I really don't want to put my baby through that if I can avoid it. Please if anyone has any natural alternatives let me know. Thank you, Selena
Guest guest
Hi, When I was doing a tropical medicine rotation in the Dominican Republic, we saw a lot of this, in the clinics. Each of the lesions has a viral core, like a little white plug, that has to be killed. Because the DR is a third world country, very poor, we used to glove up, and remove the center of the lesions with the point of a needle. Each and every lesion has to be de-cored. As evidenced by it's name, it is very contagious, and spreads easily. Try to tell your child not to scratch the lesions, and then put her hand near or in her eyes. It is from a pox virus, and eventually should go away, but that could take many months. Anything that boosts the immune system should be helpful, You need to approach this from both a topical and internal perspective. In children with MC, cimetidine ( oral) has been used with some success( if the lesions are not facial). Alternatively, I would use Citricidal as a skin wash, and then follow with 100% pure tea tree applications twice a day. Because this is a child, you need to clear all treatments with your pediatrician. What cures adults can really hurt children. Lisa
Guest guest
Sorry, but my understanding is that it is a virus that spreads, sometimes slowly, sometimes faster. My son and I have both had it on several occasions. There is no method for treating other than digging out the virus or freezing if not too deep. I have been advised that the longer it stays in/on the body, the more likely it will not only spread to other body parts and other persons, but also recur at a later date. As a mom, I would be much more concerned about where your daughter contacted this virus and whether other family members have it also than I would about the pain and discomfort of taking it out. In the great scheme of life, this is minor.
Guest guest
Organic Garlic and Red Clover will fight off a virus. Dr Christopher had a good bloodstream formula to aid something like this. -------------- Original message ---------------------- Zipamour > Sorry, but my understanding is that it is a virus that spreads, > sometimes slowly, sometimes faster. Guest guest
To you this is minor. But for me it isn't. Subjecting my little girl to unnecessary pain is not an option. But thank you for responding. , Zipamour wrote: > > Sorry, but my understanding is that it is a virus that spreads, > sometimes slowly, sometimes faster.
