Guest guest
Constipation seems to be a real problem for my husband. It affects his ability to concentrate and think clearly. His brain function is very poor, he drains easily, he suffers with nausea and his M.E. symptoms appear to worsen. He has tried a variety of different treatments for constipation including Oxy Powder to cleanse and Senokot occasionally. He has a wheat and dairy free diet and too much fruit sugars like that found in concentrated fruit juices can be a problem. He drinks plenty of water and has lots of grains and fruit and vegtables. He tries to do some gentle exercise but this can worsen his condition. He would like a natural way for his bowels to begin functioning properly and would like to stay clear of laxatives and becoming dependent. Can anyone help? Guest guest
Angela What kinds of exercises does he do? What exercises make the condition worse? I would suggest a soaked in water 1 tsp. of triphala in the morning and another at night. If that does not work, take a tsp. of castor oil at night also. What does he eat on his diet? Let us know. Guest guest
Madam, Please advise your husband to drink minimum two litres of water first thing in the morning on empty stomach, in the beginning it may not be possible but gradually he can increase. Alo include leafy vegetable such spinach and fibre foods. Banana and Guava are best for constipation. Please try and let me know. Good luck. , " godlovegerry " <godlovegerry wrote: > > Constipation seems to be a real problem for my husband. It affects his > ability to concentrate and think clearly. Guest guest
NO!! Guava is not good for resolving constipation. In fact, if you eat the whole fruit including the seeds, it can constipate you. Banana and Guava are best for constipation.
Guest guest
Tea from the greens and bark of the Tamarack tree (Larix laricina) with gently ease constipation. Cut and strip some branches from a young tree, use around 2 teaspoons pre cup of water, simmer 10 minutes for a strong cup of tea. Tamarack is a gentle laxative used by Native Americans in Maine. Be sure you are using Larix larina and not the ornamental variety of Chinese Tamarack L. decidua, L. sibirica they are hybrids used for landscaping. Always take branches from the tree that will benefit it's growth. Make cuts close to the trunk so the tree can heal. If you do not know how to prune a tree learn before you collect medicine from them. Katu
Guest guest
Personally, I've found " Inulin " a prebiotic intestinal support to help with constipation. The directions say to take one teaspoon one or more times a day, but with me a 1/4 teaspoon once a day is quite enough. Each person is different, but you may want to give this a try. It's a soluble fiber. Jack jlkinkona <josephine wrote: NO!! Guava is not good for resolving constipation. Guest guest
Hello I've read that Magnesium is the best natural laxative (and experienced the effect) and is required for so many other chemical reactions in the body. From Carolyn Dean's book " The Magnesium Miracle " (a great read) " Oral doses of magnesium Sulphate (Epsom Salts) magnesium hydroxide (milk of magnesia) magnesium oxide and Magnesium Citrate (available in a product called " Natural Calm " ) contain high concentrations of magnesium to draw water into the colon and act as an effective laxative. But it's all a matter of dose. As a laxative, 1,000 - 2,000 mg of milk of magnesia provides an effective dose: however, as a magnesium supplement, doses of 200 - 600 mg are more common. " She also writes: " Magnesium laxatives are contraindicated in patients with nausea, vomiting, appendicitis, intestinal obstruction, undiagnosed abdominal pain, or kidney disease " Magnesium Citrate (in large amounts are what is prescribed for a thorough clean-out before colonoscopies. Magnesium Chloride is the form of Magnesium in " Natural Calm " which is prepared as a tea. Each teaspoon delivers about 200 mg, and for normal supplementation you need to work up to bowel tolerance. (Peter Gillham's website is http://www.petergillham.com/) Another need for the body is to have the water to " flush " . I've heard many recommendations, but " Your Body's Many Cries for Water " by F. Batmanghelidj, M.D. is often quoted. His recommendation is half an ounce of water per pound of body weight to a maximum of 80 oz per day (if I remember correctly) His website is http://www.watercure.com.
