Guest guest
Chikungunya is a rare viral infection transmitted by the bite of an infected mosquito. It is characterized by a rash, fever, and severe joint pain (arthralgias) that usually lasts for three to seven days. Because of its effect on the joints, Chikungunya has been classified among the Arthritic Viruses. It primarily occurs in tropical areas of the world. Chikungunya' is called `Sandhijwara' in ayurveda and the symptoms of chikungunya are similar to that of Sandhijwara. P.T. Sarma, an ayurvedic physician says that there is cure for the disease in ayurveda, called panchathiktha kashayam. It is very bitter to taste, but the best suitable preventive medicine. As a preventive check domestic preparations like ginger chutney (allam chutney), karivepaku chutney or kothimeera chutney are effective used with our daily food. Also, the ragi gruel (ganji) has to be taken either with butter milk or milk. The joints can be massaged with pure camphor combined with coconut oil at least thrice and each time, two to three minutes exercise is necessary, Mr. P.T. Sarma. Hubli-based homoeopath has come out with a medicine that he claims gives immediate relief to people with chikungunya. Addressing presspersons here on Wednesday, homoeopath T.S. Mohankumar said the homoeopathic medicine " Chammomilla " was found to be very effective in treating chikungunya patients. " Ledum Pal " proved to be a good preventive medicine. Clinical trials were conducted at Mohan Homoeo Clinic in Hubli and Bhartesh Homoeopathic College and Hospital in Belgaum under the guidance of Mahesh Raikar, T. Mohan Rao, S.M. Angadi and R.Y. Nadaf. http://www.hindu.com/2006/06/15/sto… http://www.webmd.com/hw/ health_guid… http://www.hindu.com/2006/07/03/sto… > Now in india, there is an outbreak of chikun guniya. > Is there any satisfactory treatment for the same? >
Guest guest
Given that it is a viral infection one would expect colloidal silver and MMS (Sodium chlorite) to have a beneficial effect.
