Guest guest
I had cancer last year and I have been trying to rebuild my body. Since the chemo I have had pain in my left hip. Today has been very bad, which could also be the weather since I have osteo arthritis. I have been going to the gym and doing a very toned down workout trying to get my strength back. Does anyone have any suggestions for the pain? Or maybe how to rebuild that joint? Thanks, Marsha Abernethy
Guest guest
Hi, I've used St. John's Wort to reduce or eliminate pain and it works well. For long-term pain, I'd add hypnosis and self-hypnosis to establish a relaxed baseline and reverse the depressive side effects of pain. I'd suggest Tai Chi is increase your mobility. Tai Chi is very gentle and mild exercise designed to increase flexibility and core muscle strength. Guest guest
Marsha, I am happy to hear that you are recovering and working to rebuild your body. More power to you! :-) I have left hip pain due to an old injury and it's chronic. What has been recommended to me through rehab, by a personal trainer, and by my physician as well as friends is what is referred to as the Pelvic Tilt. This is when you lie on your back with your kness bent. You lift your pelvis off of the floor and hold for 10- 15 second count. And, then repeat several times. This seems to relieve the pain and even seems to give me some relief by stretching what feels to be tight in the hip region. Something that I learned from my personal trainer which also has helped me in the hip region is using one of thos huge exerciae balls. Placing it behind the back against the wall while standing. Then, bending the knees as if in a sitting position and holding. Using the ball behind the back and against the wall is helpful. I hope these suggestions help, or at least make sense. I wish for you a smooth recovery and continued strength. Victoria Marsha Abernethy <bigslowsmom wrote: I had cancer last year and I have been trying to rebuild my body. Guest guest
Have your groin checked as this may be putting more pressure on the hip, Mike jpgjeff2 <jpgjeff2 wrote: Hi, I've used St. John's Wort to reduce or eliminate pain and it works well. Guest guest
I have arthritis along with bad muscle pain...had a back injury a few years back, not much helped the pain for me....a friend of mine told me about taking coral calcium for her joint and hip pain..I tried it for a short while, no results....then a couple of years later, she mentioned it again...and said..you have to give it time to get into your system....so I tried it again, and was going to give it a month... well in a little over two weeks, I noticed a subtle change...the pain was much better....needless to say I take it every day without fail and I try to take a good marine grade that I get at an online auction because it's not expensive that way...
