Power Nap

Highly effective, successful people usually have a natural/or learned ability

to take a quick “cat napâ€.

A 20 minutes “cat nap†can rejuvenate you when you are tired, and keep

emotions balanced whether one is nervous or depressed.

It can also recalibrate many of the body’s physiological functions.

It can be learned easily.

Training Techniques:

Sit on a usual chair, or on the floor against the wall.

Close your eyes.

Loosely “Anchor†your thoughts onto either a soothing sound, or an relaxing

mental imagery.

I use a sound “SE—R-E-N-E†-  let your body “resonate†with the sound

“SE—

R-E-N-E†as you are letting go and breathing out.

Do not try hard to concentrate - if external thoughts come in - let them come

in - and let them go out.

Just “loosely†follow an instruction to be weighted downwards by your

“Anchor

â€.

Gradually your body will enter into a “meditative stateâ€.

Eventually, when the body feel saturated with rest - you will wake up feeling

wonderfully refreshed and balanced!

SUGGESTED GRAPHIC:— A sitting person, eye closed, with ‘Z—Z—Z—Z’

coming

out of his head.

I wonder if I could do that. If I fall asleep and wake up within the first 3

hours.. I'm left with a 24-hour headache. So I don't do naps. I have

fibromyalgia and so am chronically sleepy.. I can be asleep within moments at

any given time...but resist sleep if I know it's less than 4-5 hours.

I also have fibromyalgia and CFS. If I do a 20 to 30 minute nap, I'm

refreshed. If I nap longer than that, I wake with a headache, foggy

,grouchy, sore, achy and miserable.

Best,
