Guest guest
If the condition is mild and at the early stage complete rest with the following formulas may work. Guest guest
David, Allow me to copy herebelow a post from some time ago where the matter was addressed by Alon Marcus(12/18/03). He may chime in himself when he sees the post. But i happened to recall i had this so i throw it out to you. Not a direct answer to your Q, but may be helpful. Ann Could you elaborate a bit on what you mean by " very early " ? The fellow with the avascular necrosis has about a dime sized piece of the top of the femur that has died. I have no other details. Thanks, Marjorie Davidson Dr. TCM BC >>>>>>>Here is a little section on it form my book. However you need to remember that time may work agaist the patient. Avascular necrosis refers to a progressive disruption of circulation that eventually leads to a collapse of the bone structure, if not treated in time. It is seen in children and young adults as the result of injuries and various genetic bone disorders. Later in life it occurs as the result of drugs (most often from corticosteroids and alcohol) and secondary to chronic diseases (e.g., systemic lupus) that affect the vascular system, or a history of injury. The most common joint to be affected is the hip and is seen in a patient complaining of pain and restricted motion of the hip. The pain is worsened with activity and improved by rest; one or both hips can be involved; in cases other than traumatic injury, one side is affected first, and the other may develop the condition later. Treatment: In the early stage complete rest and core decompression may work and prevent the need for joint replacement. The following herbal formulas have been reported to be affective and could be incorporated: Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae (Dan Shen) 10g Fructus Cnidii (She Chuang Zi)10g Colla Cornus Cervi (Lu Jiao Jiao) 10g Radix Angelicae Sinensis (Dang Gui) 10g Semen Sinapis Albae (Bai Jie Zi) 15g Achyranthes Bidentata (Niu Xi) 15g Rhizoma Drynariae (Gu Sui Bu) 20g Radix Astragali (Huang Qi) 15g Sanguis Draconis (Xue Jie( 15g Hebra Epimedii (Yin Yang Huo) 30g Rhizoma Polygoni (Huang Jing) 30g (Cordyceps Sinensis powder caps (Dong Chong Xia Cao) 3g) Or powdered: Cordyceps Sinensis (Dong Chong Xia Cao) 9g Radix Angelicae Sinensis (Dang Gui) 12 Fructus Cnidii (She Chuang Zi)10g Radix Dipsaci (Xu Duan) 12g Rhizoma Polygoni (Huang Jing) 30g Rhizoma Drynariae (Gu Sui Bu) 12g Copper Pynites (Zi Ran Tong) 6g Acacia seu Uncaria (Er Cha) 2g Eupolyphaga seu Opisthoplatia (Tu Bie Chong) 4g Herba cum Radix Asari (Xi Xin) 6g Radix Astragali (Huang Qi) 15g Radix Poligoni Multihlori (He Shou Wu) 15g Rhizoma Cibotii Barmometz (Gou Ji) 9g Cortex Eucommiae (Du Zhong)12g Fructus Lycii (Gou Qi Zi) 12g Caulis Millettiae (Ji Xue Teng) 12g Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae (Dan Shen) 10g Panax Pseudoginseng (San Qi) 15g Flos Carthami (Hong Hua) 9g Plastrum Testudinis (Gui Ban) 15g Corapax Trionysis (Bie Jie) 30g Concha Margaritifera Usta (Zhen Zhu Mu) 30g Buthus Martensi (Quan Xie) 6g Agkistrodon Acutus (Bai Hua She) 9g Colla Cornus Cervi (Lu Jiao Jiao) 10g Achyranthes Bidentata (Niu Xi) 15g Flos Caryophylli (Ding Xiang) 3g

Guest guest
Yesterday I went to a couple doctors and had some x-rays taken of my hip which hurts all the time. They said I have avascular necrosis because I broke my femur head without knowing and the blood supply is damaged and it's dying. Does anyone have any information on alternative treatments? It would be greatly appreciated. Dave
