Dermatitis herpetiformis - Dapsone alternative

My husband has dermatitis herpetiformis as a result of gluten allergy.

While he has cut gluten out of his diet, he still has the DH. The Net

states that Dapsone is the drug to clear up his skin rash. However, it

also seems to have serious side effects. Anyone know of alternative

methods to deal with DH?

 

Our homeopathic MD is on vacation for two more weeks and we leave for

vaction next week so I'm wondering if there is anything he can do

right now to start to clear up the DH?
