Also she does pranayama (yoga) breathing

to the fellow patients in the cancer center she is very active and

Gail:

How wonderful she had these tools to help her

find a smoother and easier recovery and quality of life in her

time of challenge. And how fortunate to have you as well;

you sound very understanding, open-minded, and supportive

and upbeat.

I once took a class in kundilina yoga for a short time (till the teacher

moved to another city). A friend

contemplated taking it and asked what I thought. I told her to be

really careful, that as for

me, I wouldn't want just anyone playing around with my kundalini

as that could be really dangerous. However, after I researched

the teacher and his training (extensive years in India) and talked to

him in person,

I also went.

All yoga and meditation styles and practices I know of

emphasize deep breathing using the full breath, the

abdominal breath. (Most people do shallow upper lung

breathing.)

I have read from several sources that such deep breathing

more fully oxygenates the blood, increases chi (life force energy)

and alkalizes the body. (Most pathogens prefer an acidic and

low oxygen enviornment to survive and thrive.)

One of this teacher's breathing exercises was designed to intake and

build-up and retain chi. Then we did asanas (postures/movements) to

direct it to various

parts of the body to energize and vitalize it. In one, we also

sent color and sound to various organs.

This is based on eastern beliefs that certain organs tend to store

given

emotions. (I have also heard a CD where an overtoner sounds out

healing sounds for each of the organ. His overtone chants were not at

all like

what follows; however, the principle is the same.)

Here is what the yoga teacher taught:

Organ..............color............sound..........emotion to

cleanse/release

1. Heart...........red...............ha..............dishonesty

(haaah)

2. Lung............white............sss..............sadness (same

sound as the s's in hiss)

3. Stomach.......yellow..........who...........anxiety (who but

holding the ooh sound)

4. kidney..........blue..............ho.............fear (long o as

in hope)

5. liver..............green............sh.............anger (like the

sh sound in hush)

Even without knowledge of the methodology he taught,

any one, with focus and intent, can direct breath, sound, or color to

internal organs to muscle groups or chakras, or

through meridians....etc., etc. (Its all energy,

just in different form, force, or manifestations.)

Every thought, every emotion -- in fact everything in

existance -- has a vibratory signature by which it can be

identified, given equipment sensitive enough to register

it.

What we feel and emote, what we think

creates different chemicals to be made in our body.

Laughter really is good medicine, consider the

harmones being released during a good belly laugh.

Consider also the following from the work of Bruce Lipton:

{{clip: In his video, “The Biology of Belief”, cell biologist Bruce

Lipton, Ph.D. describes how the body is digital in nature.  It either

codes and prepares for danger i.e. fear/protection, or for growth, i.e.

healing/love.  The greater the percentage of the body’s cells that are

in protect mode, the less is available for growth and healing.  He

clearly shows how our beliefs shape and change our DNA.  The body’s

cells have antenna that receive messages from the environment and our

brain.  When we focus on fear, our body goes into a defense mode and

becomes sympathetic dominant.  When this occurs, blood supply is

diverted out of the viscera and frontal brain and into the large

muscles of the legs and arms and into the primitive or instinctual hind

brain.

The body is extremely efficient and practical, if a person is

responding to the environment as if being chased by a tiger, the body

doesn’t believe it is important to waste energy thoroughly digesting

food, or supporting the immune system against viruses, bacteria,

internal parasites, etc.  It is focused on moving quickly and

instinctually versus rationally.  Therefore, in the fear state, blood

flow is reduced to the frontal cortex and shifted to the more primitive

hindbrain.  If, because of our beliefs, this becomes a chronic state,

then our digestion and immune function becomes drastically compromised

as less and less energy is available to support these functions.

Eventually the cell membrane begins changing the DNA and only coding

for those proteins that support protective functions.  It becomes

critical that we find a way to put the majority of the body’s cells

into a growth healing mode, focusing on love versus fear.  In doing

this we will quickly move the body into a parasympathetic mode which

supports digestion, immune function, etc.   Cancer cells are basically

cells which have not “felt” supported by the body and have broken off

communication and are now operating independently of the good of the

body.}}

Check out Donna Edens book called " Energy Medicine "

she has many fast (l minute to 5 minutes) and easily performed exercises

that variously stimulate the immune system, build energy levels,

or facilitate detoxing (and more) that your mother may enjoy.

Donna also gives a lot of simple diagrams of the body meridian lines

and accupressure points, and tells how to hold the points or

trace (flush or invigorate) the meredian energy flows. You can also

check her out on you-tube and get her daily routine for

getting your energy systems up & running full steam, and in the

right direction and way ---- which would be especially helpful

for her to do on chemo because of what it does to subtle energy

systems.

Some of the exercises you can do on her for her if she is too zapped

out on chemo days.

blessings to you both,

g
