Update: Keep Pressure on Through Wednesday- Vote on HR 2900 Scheduled Now for

Wednesday Sometime After 10 AM

I checked the schedule for votes on the Suspension Calendar at the House

Majority Whips office website just now and HR 2900 isn't on it, so I called the

Whips office, and the vote on HR 2900 will be held tomorrow, Wednesday, anytime

after 10 am. The House starts its legislative business at 10 AM tomorrow, and

they allow 40 minutes of debate, but no amendments on bills being voted on

under Suspension of the Rules. They have to get a 2/3rds vote to pass these

bills.

 

As discussed previously, the Senate version of this bill (S.1082) has already

passed, and unless we can get an amendment into this bill, the FDA will be

able to attack safe dietary supplements at will using the Critical Path

CALLS TO MAKE AND WHAT TO SAY:

 

1. We need to flood the office of Nancy Pelosi with phone calls, urging her

to allow debate and amendments on HR 2900 (and if its not removed from the

suspension calendar urge Pelosi, and all other congressmen to vote NO on this

bill! (If they ask if you're a constituent, tell them you're an American

citizen,

she's the speaker of the House, you're angry and you have input you need to

make. Do the same with the others in the House leadership if you're not a

constituent, because they've been arrogantly hanging up on people.

You will be transferred to voice mail where you can leave a message. Urge

Rep. Pelosi to allow debate and amendments on HR 2900 by removing it from the

Suspension Calendar. This will allow the bill to be brought up under a regular

order, which will give Congressman Ron Paul the opportunity to offer amendments

that will help support health freedom (among other things).

supplements, please take action now to help move HR 2900 into a status allowing

debate and amendments. You must call today, tonight or Wednesday morning.

Urge them to support the same thing. Please also contact your own

congressperson and urge them to support open debate and amendments on HR 2900.

Tell them

that Congressman Paul is being blocked from proposing an amendment to this

bill that dietary supplement consumers need. Tell them the amendment was written

by attorney Jonathan Emord who has done more to defend the Dietary Supplement

Health and Education Act than any attorney in the country and that you will be

enraged if this bill is pushed through under suspension without any

amendments being allowed. If its not removed from the Suspension Calendar, you

want

them to vote NO on it!!!

 

This action is supported by many leaders and groups in the health freedom

movement, even those that don't normally agree with each other. It is easy to

see

that HR 2900 stands as a serious threat to health freedom, and we cannot

afford to miss this opportunity to introduce meaningful amendments to the

legislation.
