Hello,

This is an excellent group with so much to be learned. I have a problem I hope

to have some insight in solving. After sleeping all night I have a pain in my

left side that prevents me from laying on that side. It is at the ribs or just

lower. It does not hurt any other time except after sleeping all night. Does

anyone know what might be causing this?

I've had something similar to this before and I can relate it to my

digestion. Probiotics and digestive enzymes usually help me.

Because the pain is isolated to after sleeping .I'm assuming the pain

disapates with time. My guess would be external or internal obilques .The origin

of the internal obliques is the lower costal ribs and the insertion of the

external obliques is the low costal ribs. If you rotate to the lt. orthe rt.

which hurts more.

An injury or over worked during the day could cause them to tighten

during the night. Laying in on spot with little or no movement could cause

it.You may even need a new mattress.

I'd find a good massotherapist that knows myofassial release and start

there!

Thank you Joe... yes it stops hurting as soon as I get up. The pain is only

after several hours of sleep, by morning it is so painful I cannot lay on my

left side. The mattress's are new and very comfortable. I will look into a

therapist. Thanks!
