Guest guest
Hi: I new the the group and have some questions. A few of my friends have told me that I should see a doctor about depression. I admit that I have lost interest in things, no energy, tired, etc. Before I call my doctor, is there any alternative medicine I could try to give me that little extra boost that I need. I really hate to be on drugs. Steve in WI Mod note:-Please check out our links and do some research, I would suggest you start with vitamin B complex and if you find interesting information please share it with us as I am sure that those who have experience of depression will share with you. Guest guest
Steve - cannot tell you what to do but I can tell you what worked for me and depression. Diet was the main change for me - cod liver oil and a combination of 3/6/9 called omegabrite (omegabrite.com) and absolutely no processed foods or pastuerized foods - everything organic, plenty of fresh raw cow's milk or goat's milk and walking every day whether it be on the treadmill or outside - outisde of course being better. I got adjusted chiropracticaly and had cranial sacral work done with massage every other week or so - whatever the wallet could afford. I have found when I get away from this mode of life I get dow n again which is a heads up that real depression will set in again. I also had my thyroid checked. For me it was adrenal fatique from taking care of an auto-immune Newfoundland and a handcapped one on my own while running my own business (I am an artist) and ten acre property. TOO MUCH!!! It took a huge toll. I made sure i was in bed my 9:30 every evening and got enough sleep. I still had to be up sometimes with sick animals but the care for myself started to help. Coconut oil became a staple in my diet as well. I am one who believes in quality verses quantity. Nutrition in my opinion is VERY powerful medicine. Also a good place to look is the westonaprice.org web site. Great springboard to other places as well as having some very well researched information on the site. For me when grief also came into my life on top of depression I turned to homeopathy. It put my back on track. Hope that helps give you some ideas.
