Guest guest
Hi Dale, Yes, I know just what you are talking about. I am addicted to acupuncture, LOL, not really, but I feel fantstic when I go. The point between your toes that you speak of is called liver #, but it is also on the spleen meridian, and I think even another meridian. It is an important point where lots of meridians end, I believe, which is why it is such a powerful point. I massage that one often! I did some acupuncture a while ago that was based on the 5 elements and through muscle testing, my weakest elements from birth were discovered and restored. What am amazing experience! So to answer your question, go with it! :-) Debbie deb Detoxify for spring with a soothing, healing bath ~ http://www.debrasrhapsody.com/rhapsody/bath.shtml - " Dale Bernucca " <DBTenn8653 Thursday, April 03, 2003 10:04 AM Acupuncture > Hi everyone - > > Just back on list. Was no-mail for a while - long story. > > Anyway, I recently started some acupuncture treatments to restore my chi. I had both my gall bladder and my spleen taken out about five years back - for ITP. I've never been treated with acupuncture before. > > My question is this: I am currently on a three-week appointment schedule. I have experienced sensations acutely that I have not felt in years. Among them a lot of tears shed and a lot of walking away from arguments (makes my hubby happy). Not my usual first reactions to situations. Also, when those needles are manipulated by my calves and between my first and second toes I feel 'electricity' or something around near the top of my head. I find myself really having to 'try' to be feisty!! > > Should I just go with the energy flow here - it's kind of nice to feel the negative saying good-bye. It's just different for me to feel this way. I'm not a negative person myself but I do absorb a lot of what goes on around me. > > Has anyone else experienced acupuncture for chi restoration? Did you feel any of what I have described? I hope no one thinks this is a weird question. I mean if I were to describe labor medications other women would speak up and compare what their reactions were to the meds so I'm just applying the same type of response request to acupuncture here. > > Dale > > >
Guest guest
Hi Dale >Should I just go with the energy flow here - it's kind of nice to feel the negative saying >good-bye. I'd say definitely go with it >Has anyone else experienced acupuncture for chi restoration? Did you feel any of what I >have described? Yes I have. A few years ago I had a series of sessions for horrendous migraines. I rarely get them now and if I feel one coming can catch it early. It certainly " re-organised " my feelings and I'm proobably much more calmer because of it. HOpe it continues to work Regards Ann - Scotland
Guest guest
Thanks Debbie and thanks Ann. I had to tell someone about this that I trusted wouldn't think I sounded like a whacko. Unbelievable to be able to put a finger on what exactly I'm feeling where rather than my whole body going haywire after taking this pill or that pill. I also sleep really well for the two or three nights immediately following an acupuncture visit. Old habits are gonna die hard I know. still giggling about the toes comment!! summer's coming and we all gotta start somewhere on the 'pale scale'. a few ladies here in Brooklyn who were out strolling with sandals on today. It wasn't that warm but I guess they were willing to take it anyway!! Dale
Guest guest
I had my first acu treatment for a long time..things have changed..now they use electrical instruments to pulse power into the acu needles..when i first had it 10 years ago..it was all manual... Anyway the doctor said i damaged some ligements and soft bone (T12,L1)..and it would take about a month to heal (I fell hard down a staircase)...She suggests 3 seeions of half hour per week... Does this sound about right...and how long does it take to heal the soft bone tissue in the back..I am also doing some shiatsu..sauna and aromatherapy ;-) Cheers KK

Guest guest
To elaborate a little more. If i had an acute disc with or without leg pain, ie severe pain with painful twinges, very difficult to bear any weight such as turning in bed, and dural tension signs, i would get an epidural within the first 24 hours. I have done this on myself twice and had pt do this countless times. By getting an epidural very early i and many other pt have gon back to normal life within a few days instead of months of pain and medical care. If i had an acute mechanical back pain i would look for a good bodyworker, I like the osteopathic model but finding a DO that practices and is well trained in osteopathic manual therapy is not easy. Only 4% of DOs go on to get full manual therapy training. I would get acupuncture but it has a much lower rate of quick results in both discogenic pain and mechanical pain. Chronic back pain is whole different story - Alon Marcus Chinese Medicine Sunday, May 13, 2007 10:03 PM Re: acupuncture A good DO - Twyla Chinese Medicine Sunday, May 13, 2007 8:15 PM Re: acupuncture Hi Alon...what would be your first choice for treatment?
