Secretions trapped in the glands force perspiration and bacteria into surrounding tissue, causing subcutaneous induration, inflammation, and infection. However, more recent studies have indicated that hidradenitis suppurativa is caused by follicular occlusion first, which, in turn, occludes the apocrine glands and causes perifolliculitis. Therefore, it is actually a disorder of the terminal follicular epithelium located in the apocrine gland-bearing skin areas, which may better be termed as acne inversa. Hidradenitis suppurativa is confined to areas of the body that contain apocrine glands. These areas are the axillae, areola of the nipple, groin, perineum, circumanal, and periumbilical regions.<<< The above is from eMedicine.com It may be a bit simplistic of me to suggest, but this condition would seem a good candidate for VCO - virgin coconut oil. It has strong anti fungal and antiseptic qualities. It can be consumed safely with other benefits involved and would suit being used liberally on the skin. I would suggest anyone wanting to find a 'cure' or 'relief' should research the healing qualities of Unrefined Virgin Coconut Oil. Guest guest
I would suggest also putting: Hot Herbal-Tea compresses on the site. Just buy a box of good herbal-tea bags(any Herbals); heat hot water; steep 1 tea-bag in hot water until thoroughly hot;cool; press to site. , " richby9 " <richby9 wrote: > > > > kim <blue_eyed_darlin1@> wrote: > > Elle, I'm not sure if anyone answered your question about H.S. > > A friend's son was seriously infected for quite a while with what was > called 'an ingrown hair'. Guest guest
Thank you Rich that is a wonderful idea. I was going to use yogurt as I liked the probiotic aspect but I am sure I would be much more acceptable in public with the scent of coconut.
