Guest guest
Exactly, toooooo much ( and that can be a very tiny amount) will leave an aftertaste much like saccharine, and brands definitely make a difference so does the type of processing. I love the liquid stevia in flavors from Sweetleaf but can't stand their powdered version- they have adulterated it with inulin. I prefer the pure powdered forms such as KAL and NOW offer. I also grow my own and use that when available, but most of what i grow then gets tinctured with some otherwise nasty tasting herbs such as horehound, etc. Since switching to stevia I don't use sugar at all except for culturing Kombucha and Water Kefir where it is then transformed into something else. I rarely ever eat regular sweets any more and then mostly to honor someones birthday- but just a tiny piece now instead of 2-3 regular pieces that I once did. Is it addicting ? Not for me. Sugar is addicting, and I admit to being an addict, but stevia is allowing me to wean myself without getting withdrawl symptoms. zoe Tuesday, April 10, 2007, 9:18:07 AM, you wrote: > Zoe et al > I live in Canada and have used stevia since 1988. Maybe I just don't like the a very very sweet taste though too. > blessings > Shan
