Guest guest
I agree that there is more. I lost 2 dogs in August & September last year. One was eating Iams wet packs of food, the other was on a special food for allergies, Trout & Sweet Potato. It cost us a fortune in vets with no answers. In November we bought a pup who almost died after giving her some of the leftover trout dog food. She is 6 months now and still not right. I knew in November it was the dog food. I am amazed that it is this widespread. I'd really appreciate a home made recipe for dog food if anyone has one. Malinda I lost two dogs over this. I would recommend not using the food at all regardless of codes and dates. Something is not right, I do not think this was a unique occurrence. It has yet to be explained how the poison got in the food. I feed mine fresh meat but had been in the hospital and
Guest guest
I seen on the news that the recalled dog food was poisoned with arsenic and the news said something about how it alledgedly came from the wheat, and that it may affect more than just the dog food at this point? Has anyone else heard anything about this? I was on my way out the door at the time and could not watch the whole story, and of course it has not been repeated. Thanks, Shannon

The contaminated (rodent poison) wheat was brought in from China. We have had sporadic unconfirmed reports coming in that kibble marketed by two BIG name pet food companies is also suspect, but there is nothing " official " being said yet. We are also hearing that sales of frozen raw food diets have increased over the past week as people realize they have NO control over what they are feeding their animals if it comes out of a bag or a can or a pouch. Interestingly enough, we recently had word out of Belgium of a study that proved dogs who are fed table scraps are healthier than their commercially fed brethren. I wouldn't go so far as to say that table scraps are appropriate as a steady diet for any dog, as I know a raw diet is the foundation of supreme health, but it certainly gives one pause to think. But, as tragic as this fiasco is, there is a ray of hope. Raw feeding and holistic canine care lists are hopping with activity as a flood of new members present their many questions. People are waking up!!!
