A couple years ago in Anchorage a female ob/gyn was taken off the hospital's

roll for failing to perform enough c-sections! Of course, the hospital said

she was causing undue harm to the mothers and babies by not performing the

c-section. It took almost a year for her to be able to practice medicine

again.

That was criminal on the part of the hospital.

Sharon and the menagerie, 14 birds, 3 dogs (including poodle pup), 1 cat (mad

that we have poodle pup), lots of raw foods, limited vaccinations!

This has actually become a personal crusade of mine. I refer to the

rate as devastating because my experience with a c-section was

devastating. Without going into too much detail, I was

induced(unnecessarily), got an epidural (because induced labor pains

are unbearable), and ended up with a c-section. Little did I know at

the time that all the unnecessary interventions almost guaranteed my

surgery.

During the last 3 1/2 years of pain, both emotionally and physically,

I have learned so much about the birthing process that I should have

known before having my first baby. I'm so proud to say that my second

baby was born vaginally and weighed 9 pounds 5 ounces! I am living

proof that " once a c-section, always a c-section " is absolutely false!

I heard of a woman at our local hospital who elected a c-section

simply because her baby weighed 9 pounds. I simply do not understand

the reasoning behind unnecessary butchering!

If you would like to learn more and join a cause like mine, take a

look at ICAN (international cesarean awareness network). Knowledge is

power!
