Thanks to the evidence from the beginning that has gone unnoticed for 65

years. This hotly contested issue can begin to have some closure. The

correlation

between mercury, and the other toxins or compounds that influence autism have

now been revealed. United Press International (UPI) Journalist Dan Olmstead

along with researcher Beverly Crawford introduced information into the forefront

of the case. With the article “Mercury Rising†published in Feb. 2007 in the

Baltimore City Paper.

 

Dr. Leo Kanner of Johns Hopkins University is credited with the first

diagnoses of autism as the symptoms observed didn’t seem to match the other

psychiatric disorders of the time. Thankfully he kept good records although he

had no

database to research further into what the cause may have been. As it is today

the obvious was ignored due to lack of past information available. There were

those that disagreed with his findings as trying to downplay what is not

understood seems to be a human instinct.

 

There was an increase in numbers over time as this diagnosis’s was accepted

there was no apparent spectrum to consider. Little was known as to what was

going to happen in the future when you considered that these cases were isolated

in number. However the storm was only just beginning at this point. A little

rain and breeze, this is not long before we see the full fury as the future is

at hand.

 

Throughout the 90’s and into this century some branches have begun to

develop. Autism has expanded with those that exhibit similar symptoms without

severity. We now refer to this as ASD or Autism Spectrum Disorders. True to

science

this includes ADD, ADHD, ODD etc., Neurological disorders that share symptoms

yet lack equal severity.

 

For those that claim better diagnostics you must question just exactly what

planet they derive from? We all went to school and never have we seen this as

it seems that our society is starting to come apart at the seams. You cannot

avoid the fact that you know somebody or are related to someone that suffers

from a disorder that you rarely if ever heard of as a child. Our parents just

woke us up and told us to eat our breakfast. Today the breakfast becomes

secondary as “wake up and take your pillâ€.

 

Mercury Rising brought out some points that are valid in every aspect. We

demand that medicine find cures for anything that makes us ill. Today we

continue

this trend. Have we allowed ourselves to play God to the point that we think

that we can rule nature despite the facts? Are we so unrealistic that we

believe that by altering the natural way of things we can find ways to live

forever? Or are we so ignorant that we are messing with a system much older than

we

are and it was better left alone?

 

Finding ways to increase food production for a world that lacks sufficient

means is righteous in its idea but could there be a higher price to pay? Killing

off those germs, microorganisms and bacteria seemed to ensure better health.

Looking back we now see these results may have contributed to the ills of

today. Did we believe that ever increasing amounts of toxic substances could

cure

us from those things that we feared? Never realizing that these miracles could

lead to disorders and diseases that were avoidable yet inevitable due to lack

of investigation?

 

Human demands came before diligence as our water ways became polluted and

began to die. Our vision and sense of smell alerted us to smog. Pockets of

illness allowed us to understand that all was not right in paradise. Changes

needed

to be made and there came regulations that we thought would clean up our act.

Equilibrium with the earth and its ability to cleanse itself was the goal.

 

Unfortunately these regulations are written into law by the very polluters as

profits are more important than health. The EPA relies on industry to self

monitor as the numbers collected are in fact generated by industry. It is a

system where the fox only admits to how many chickens it has killed and not the

actual number. When pressed these industries just moved production out of the

country to avoid regulation and finding lower costs in the end.

 

During this same period America became the world’s largest and most

sufficient food producer. Our use of toxic insecticides, pesticides and

fungicides

increased in order to fulfill the demand. Many of these products were rushed

into

use without long term studies to prove safety. The only concern was bigger

yields and so higher profits. The damage done to the environment or ourselves

was

not even questioned. Could it be that we believed that just washing it off

would eliminate any potential risks?

 

While we were creating all of these chemicals for a better life another

industry grew into a position of power and influence. The pharmaceutical

industry

found that not only were we fighting off bacteria and germs we began seeing a

need to eliminate the symptoms of diseases and disorders that appeared to be

new and unlike those of before. Suddenly the brain was not functioning correctly

as with the immune system creating a prime opportunity for the pharmaceutical

industry to step into the fold.

 

The elimination of germs and bacteria has been the driving force behind many

of today’s products. This includes those chemicals used in or around our

homes. There seems to be a unwillingness to understand that this over burdens

our

toxic exposures. The disease causing germs, bacteria and viruses have been on

our radar for many years. And so the development of vaccines came about as this

was prevention and not reaction.

 

Again we relied on chemicals in production and ingredients of these vaccines.

The idea was to give our immune system help in battling these invaders from

outside of our bodies. And so we have allowed our most important asset

(children) to receive these vaccines at 22 before the age of two years. This is

an

attempt to influence their immune system and also contributes to the toxin

burden

already in place since conception. This of course creates an entirely new set

of problems.

 

Recent studies have shown that we might be on the wrong path as our system

may in fact eliminate the very bacteria, germs and viruses on its own if we have

a healthy immune system. This explains why some may be inflicted while others

seem to repel theses intruders.

 

Immunotoxicity causes the body to turn upon itself. We see this with the

increasing numbers of those that suffer from autoimmune disorders and diseases.

Reality appears to show that our immune systems are chemically over burdened.

We have now come full circle as government scientist’s claim no increases.

This is a denial that we have ever increasing numbers of people using

drugs/chemicals in order to deal with life in general. We have the belief that

using

another chemical will adjust our systems to function correctly.

 

Repeated chemical exposures create changes within our genetic makeup. This is

confirmed by many studies. Eventually these alterations will be passed on to

our future generations. The influences are not just thought as they are toxin

related.

 

Injecting, breathing, drinking, and living with toxins is the cause of what

we have today. The use of other chemicals to correct this is beyond

comprehension. I ask your Honor to find that chemicals and other toxins are

guilty. We

ask the court to return us to nature as this was our destiny.

 

We can’t afford to keep throwing gasoline on this fire. I need that to drive

home.
