Guest guest
TREATING CHEMICAL INJURY: STEP BY STEP http://www.chemicalinjury.net/html/neural_sensitization__treating.html Dr G Ziem Basic Steps to get started 1. Take buffered vitamin C twice daily building up to 1 gram/twice daily. Use more often if current exposure or severe inflammation. Take enough to test adequate with Perque C strips (800-806-8671). For this test use first morning urine: blue strip should turn white. Also test just before next dose after significant exposure when your symptoms are worse. If any irritation, start with small pinch, work up gradually. 2. Begin vitamin E using 1 Ultimate E (Thorne) or Xcellent E (Xymogen) WITH FOOD (mixed tocopherols with 200 gamma). If needed, puncture gelcap, begin with 1-2 drops mixed with food and increase as able. 3. Use AeronebGo nebulizer: (evomedical.com). Start the first time with 1-2 droppers of water (bottled or otherwise safe water you can drink without symptoms). Nebulize at least twice daily, more often with exposure, when sicker or to get better faster. 4. Then, add 1 drop concentrated specialized vitamin B12 (hydroxocobalamine) to 2 droppers water in nebulizer. Begin with 1-2 mg hydroxocobalamine per drop, work up to 4-5 mg per drop if needed. Folate or more active forms of folate (folinic) if not ample on SpectraCell testing. If symptoms, dilute to below symptom level. 5. If okay, the next time add 1 drop glutathione to 2 droppers of water. Begin with concentration level of 10-20 mg glutathione per ml. If any irritation, dilute further to below irritation level. Let healing proceed and increase concentration gradually, staying below irritation level. 6. If okay, stay at 1 drop B12 (hydroxocobalamine) (with or without folate/folinic) and increase glutathione: add 2 drops of glutathione, then 3, then 4, etc. until you can use glutathione without water. If you have irritation (coughing, etc.) reduce dose below irritation level until more healing, then slowly increase again. 7. Take taurine capsule in the evening (1 or more hours after evening meal, or at bedtime to help middle of night awakening). 8. Begin NSP capsules with food in the stomach: one with a meal for a few days, then one with a second meal for a few days, then one with third meal. After 1-2 weeks slowly increase to 2 with meals. Reduce amount and wait for more healing if any intestinal or other symptoms. If any symptoms with alpha lipoic acid, request NSP without lipoic until you can take lipoic 100-200 mg (Thorne or Jarrow) with food in stomach first with each meal. Then pharmacy can combine NSP cap with alpha lipoic acid. 9. When you can do glutathione full strength, gradually increase concentration with pharmacy, e.g. 30mg/ml, 60mg/ml, etc. 10. With exposures, increase vitamin C frequency, nebulize more often until symptoms better. Also use nasal hydroxocobalamine (less concentrated than nebulized form) every 5 to 15 minutes until symptoms clear. Begin with 100-200 mcg per spray. Gradually increase strength as tolerated up to 500 mcg per spray. Glutathione can also be used as a nasal spray at least as dilute as the dilution you are using for nebulizing at that time. -- If you have symptoms during or within an hour, discontinue or for mild symptoms reduce dose/dilute further. If then okay go up more gradually: worse inflammation may require more gradual dosing with very dilute amounts. For more than mild symptoms, contact the pharmacy or Dr. Ziem. Dr. Ziem will be happy to talk to your doctor. Keep airtight, protected from light. Also keep nebulizer ingredients refrigerated. Testing panel FIA 5000 through SpectraCell Lab (800-227-5227) helps confirm low/deficient levels. Goal is ample levels (above " average " ). -- If you have impaired folate enzyme MTHFR on testing (C677T; A1298C through Quest Lab etc.), you need the bioactive folate known as L-5-methyl tetrahydrofolate (e.g.; Thorne 5 MTHF; Folapro: Metagenics 800-692-9400 or Metafolin Prothera 888-488-2488) or added to your NSP capsule. Sinus/Ear Congestion Nebulizer Technique (AeronebGo nebulizer) a. Breathe in through your mouth while holding tips of nostrils closed. b. Hold breath several seconds, still holding nostrils. Use other hand to place fingers over back slits of nebulizer so vapor can't go into room. Vapor will now enter sinuses and tubes to middle ears, helping healing there. c. Breath out through nose, still holding back slits closed. Nebulizer Cleaning Clean immediately after use. Take apart, rinse well with water, air dry. If filter/vapor flow slows, run water through nebulizer into room to unclog/clear filter.
