It is a virus that remains in the body and never leaves. However my son eliminated it with herbs. The best for this is Melissa! See the article recently posted in regards to Herpes. Regards, JoAnn -------------------------------- http://www.enzy.com/abstracts/display.asp?id=5089 Effect of an herbal formula containing Ganoderma lucidum on reduction of herpes zoster pain: a pilot clinical trial. Author: Hijikata Y, Yasuhara A, Sahashi Y. Source: Am J Chin Med. 2005;33:517-23. Abstract: Administration of hot water extracts of a herbal formula containing Ganoderma lucidum, WTMCGEPP (Wisteria floribunda 0.38, Trapa natans 0.38, Miristica agrans 0.38, Coix lachryma-jobi 0.75, cultivated Ganoderma lucidum 0.75, Elfuinga applanata 0.38, tissue cultured Panax ginseng 0.3, and Punica granatum 0.38: numerals designate dry weight gram/dose), decreased herpes zoster pain for five Japanese patients suffering from shingles. Pain relief started within a few days of intake and was almost complete within 10 days. Two acute herpes zoster with manifestations including trigeminal nerve ophthalmia (both 74 years old), lower body zoster (70 years old), herpes zoster oticus (17 years old), and leg herpes (28 years old), responded quickly to treatment and no patient developed post-herpetic neuralgia (PHN) after more than one year of follow-up. Melissa Extract for Herpes Simplex - The Alternative to Nucleoside Analogues Author: Mohrig V Source: Deutsche Apotheker Zeitung. 1996; 50:109-114. http://www.enzy.com/abstracts/display.asp?id=1592 Abstract: In the Sixties and Seventies the antiviral activity of balm mint against herpes-simplex viruses (HSV) was first mentioned. These scientific results lead to the development of a special preparation containing balm mint leaf extractions. In the last ten years a cream called Lomaherpan has proven to be useful in clinical medicine. Non- infected cells are protected from penetrating herpes-simplex viruses by the balm mint extract; phenolcarbonic acids and its polymers are responsible for this effect. Clinical trials have already proven the efficacy of this preparation. Here we will report on recent evaluations and clinical trials. We can expect the topical use of balm mint leaves extractions to be equally effective than nucleoside analogues in treating HSV infections of the skin. Based on the results of a recently completed pilot study in 22 patients it might be expected, that controlled clinical trials which are under way and which are conducted according to the principles outlined in EC-GCP (European Community Guidelines for Good Clinical Practice) will confirm balm mint extract preparation as an alternative to nucleoside analogues. Nucleoside analogues may induce HSV to become resistant by interfering with the metabolism of the virus-infected cells. Furthermore, a shortening of the recurrence-free period was reported repeatedly. Therefore, it should be discussed whether the therapy with nucleoside analogues could be induced in high-risk patients only. The mechanism of action for balm mint makes it unlikely that HSV will become resistant, and it explains the observation of a prolonged disease-free period. The lowering of daily treatment costs must be emphasized.
Guest guest
Herbs are good;other Nutrients are *Lysine; available at health-food aisle; also very important is Vitamin E. Vitamin C is important. You can buy *Ester C and Ester Vitamin E from any pharmacy. I would reocmmend rubbing either Pure Garlic Oil and or Pure Fish Oil any type such as Cod-Liver Oil on the areas. If you cannot stand the Garlic Oil or Fish-oil then use Mineral Oil. The very worst thing you can do is use harsh syntheic soaps on the skin. This can trigger a herpes attack. How are your Grandmother's teeth and gums. The Herpes Virus often hides in decayed tooth roots. Let me know if she has her own teeth and in what conditon. thanks. --- In , " JoAnn Guest " <angelprincessjo wrote: > > , " snickers2261 " > <long.robin@> wrote: > > > > My grandma suffers from the pain of shingles.
