Guest guest
Hi all! I'm new to the group and could use some suggestions. All of us in our household have been coughing now for 8 weeks. It gets better at times and worse at times, but there is consistently someone with congestion and a cough. Beyond a virus I'm beginning to wonder if there's a problem with our food or our air. The one suffering the most right now is my 5-month-old. He has a pretty severe cough. Any suggestions to help him with this? All I know to do is run the humidifier and pat his back to try to loosen the mucus, but there's got to be something more I can do. Please help! We're traveling in about 10 days and he's got to be well by then. Thanks! Tina

I can't put my finger on anything that has changed. We started using our heat of course, but we keep the filter changed often. We don't have pets. We haven't been checked for mold, but we live in a newer home, so I don't think that's it. My husband works at the hospital so sometimes I think that he bring yuck home with him. He's been working there for 6 years though, so that's nothing new. We've been staying inside more since it's cold outside. We take vitamins, probiotics, drink fresh juice. I just can't figure this out.
Guest guest
What is your source of heat? Wood stoves can induce chronic cough. I had a chronic cough for three years in the wake of a URI. After extensive medical testing and lots of tries at treatment I was sent to a speech pathologist when no medical reason for the cough was found.. She put me on a water therapy regimen. Every time I felt the need to cough or clear my throat, I was to sip water. In a month, the cough was gone. If this is a virus you are sharing about the only thing you can do is wash hands frequently, don't share cups or utensils, don't share towels. You can try wearing a surgical type mask. Take Purell or some other type of wipe with you and wipe surfaces of things like grocery carts and telephones. If you work, disinfect shared surfaces at work. Good luck, Linda Michaels Gambier, OH
Guest guest
You might consider getting the ducts cleaned on your heating system. It made a world of difference for us....even with a new home. ~malinda Tina <mommyon731 wrote: , " Mercurius Trismegistus " <magisterium_magnum wrote: > > > did you get a new pet or anyting? has your house been checked for toxic mold? > what has changed in your environment during this time? > That's just it.
