My estrogen shows <20...still having my menses, so is it possible the estrogen can be low due to something else? What alternatives are there for HRT? I started at 42 and my Dr wouldn't believe me, told me to come back in 6 mos time if I still hadn't had a period, well I did and by that stage I hadn't had a period for 12 months so she finally had to believe me and the blood test proved it. My husband pointed out to her that because I cycled every 3 weeks instead of on a monthly basis I would naturally run out of eggs sooner. I have never taken anything for HRT and at this stage don't intend to. Have never experienced any symptoms of any sort so don't see the need to " fix " things. My present Dr accepts my stance and is happy with that, just so long as I have a bone density scan sometime soon, and that is fine by me. huggs Lyndall It seems that we may almost have a double standard as far as medical theories are concerned.
