Hi all,

My father is recently diagnosed with terminal cancer. He is slowly but

surely getting more and more pain. We did have some troubles already

getting his stool under controle due to constipation caused by the pain

killers and being in bed a long time.

Any alternative medecine or methods to relieve the pain, being less

constipated and being less nautious (less vomiting)?

Thanks,

SK

Hi,

My father passed away two yrs ago in Nov to kidney cancer and I know all too

well what you are dealing with now. We had the doc give us pain patches to

put on his skin so he stomach wouldnt become too nauseated. When that no longer

helped we gave him drops of morphine for the pain given in applesauce. It cut

the bitter taste and got him to be more pain free. Knowing how much your

father moves around or what he can tolerate to eat would help. Push

liquids..soft juices such as apple..chamimille tea helps too with the nausea.

Keeping something is his stomach here and there instead of pushing big meals a

few times a day should help...cuts the nauseated feeling he gets and stops some

of the vomiting. Flat white soda or gingerale helps too. Small bits of food

instead of the big meals....Anything he can tolerate eating... even if it just

bites of a banana or crackers or applesauce helps alot. It is not uncommon if

he will try it is to eat baby food or food

pureed. Appetites get poor in this stage and something he would try is

better then nothing. Try more bland foods and less acidic foods. If you wish

I can give you a list of foods to try. When he is in distress try a small

amount of meditation with him..Talk to him while music is playing softly..

make his thoughts think to better things. When he is in bed offer some back

rubs..with some warm oil on your hands..this may be of help too along with the

meditation. Rubbing any joints that stiffen being in bed relieves the pain

else where in his body. Try cushioning his body more while in bed if he allows

this.

He may not be able at this point in time to have normal bowel movements..if he

gets too constipated try a warm enema if he allows this or stool softeners

over the counter.

I am in the medical profession and have done hospice care and taking care of

people in a nursing home for 20 odd yrs..Anything you need just ask..I will see

if I can help you more. My thughts and prayers are with you and your dad !

When my father was in the declining stages of colon cancer, I had read

that accupuncture helps with pain control. I found an accupunturist

who would come to his home since he couldn't leave the house. He was

amazed how much it helped him. He was able to drastically reduce his

morphine for quite a while. He was skeptical at first so I had to

convince him to give it a try. But, once he saw how much it helped,

he became a believer!

Some say that Cesium Chloride may be helpful with the pain and help to kill the

cancer cells

Hello,

I know that Vitamin C in high doses (more than 3g per day) will

produce diareah, which would be a great releif for someone with

constipation. There are other good benefits to vitamin C also. You

can get the tablets which frizz when put in water, those will be

easier to take. I experienced this because I had low thyroid and

no treatment.

Another natural solution is Magnesium which will also help with

bowel movement and is also relaxing in the evening and helps get

some good quality sleep.

For more information on these solutions you can see:

Also check out Rife treatment:

I hope this helps.
