Guest guest
L-Theanine works wonders with anxiety-- per my experience and my families experience this summer. The first time I used it and it was great and did not interfere with mental or physical functioning. It also helped with sleep and not feeling " drugged " . Guest guest
Not surprised to hear this... Minerals and amino acids are so important for natural serotonin support. Our soil is so depleted of nutrients today, a carrot is no longer a carrott. And why are we seeing so much ADD in our children today??? And depression, anxiety and rapid heart beat in women, like we have never seen before? All of these can simply be a lack of amino acids and minerals. Glad to hear you are doing so well. Guest guest
(Moderator's Note: Just a suggestion. Go to our links page and click on relevent sites to do research. I suggest that you learn how to correctly get off any meds that you decide to get off of and then what natural methods that you decide upon after researching them. http://health./links or ask members which sites may be helpful for your research.) did research on it, asked 4 docs, gnc, local old health food store guy, 35 other message boards and none of them said they ever heard of it working for this . Why??? , " jschaller " <jschaller wrote: > > Dose you used? > > James > > - > Fran > > Sunday, November 26, 2006 7:44 PM > Re: what are natural cures for anxiety , im on 4 diff meds now > > > L-Theanine works wonders with anxiety-- per my experience and my families experience this summer. Guest guest
you can try each of these separately to see if they work for you: evening primrose oil has been effective for me, although it does make me drowsy (in a good, natural way) and I'm sure to take it at home 2 hours before bedtime for nighttime anxiety. valerian root tea, which can take several weeks to work, has worked in different amounts for either sleep or anxiety. camomile tea is good for a general calming effect (just make sure you're not allergic to ragweeds). st john's wort, if the anxiety is part of depression, is helpful as well, but eatch for photosensitivity and rash if allergic kava kava in tea form is highly potent, but should only be used for acute attacks and for no longer than 6 weeks consecutively. Long-term use can cause kidney problems. bach's rescue remedy can be used for panic attacks, phobias or acute anxiety. most of all, meditation and mindful awareness of triggers, as well as having a mantra or sacred safe inner space to get through rough spots, is crucial to success of overcoming anxiety with any medication. Guest guest
sorry, as a caveat to my last entry suggesting supplements, please note that these worked only from my personal experience, and you should double check with a doctor or naturopath to see what allopathic meds interact with the list of suggestions. currently i'm not on any allopathic meds myself, but wouldn't advocate the same for someone else, especially if they are on meds now and need to consult with a professional for adjusting anxiety med dosages. thanks > Dose you used? > > James > > - > Fran > > Sunday, November 26, 2006 7:44 PM > Re: what are natural cures for anxiety , im on 4 diff meds now > > > L-Theanine works wonders with anxiety-- per my experience and my families experience this summer. Guest guest
Well my first question is why you have anxiety? You would need to find the reason first: do you have hyperthyroidism (goiter on neck, and need your thyroid checked), hypothyroidism can also cause anxiety. How about your adrenals? Do you have adrenal fatigue (too much cortisol/stress hormone?) you can get books or do a search on adrenal fatigue, there are even saliva adrenal tests you can take. If it is adrenals, or you suspect it is: and there are checklists on the internet to see if you have a problem with adrenals for instance like jumping when you hear a sound, heart racing when you are startled (or startled easy), hair loss, gaining wt. in belly area, etc. etc. Anyway for adrenals you need to take long, warm showers and massage adrenal area daily (or long, warm bubble baths). Light candles often and turn off the news, do not answer the phone if you absolutely don't have to. Supplements would be: pantothenic acid, dgl licorice, vitamin C, b-stress vitamins, I think also recommended you can do research on is 5htp, and tyrosine... Guest guest
Please join this group: http://health.Withdrawal_and_Recovery/ They can help more than any other group I have found, in these areas: 1. How to reduce your meds slowly, and in which order. 2. What to take for anxiety - including natural treatments, and supplements. 3. What NOT to take for anxiety - some of the natural treatments mentioned here already are not suitable for everyone. 4. Diet and Supplements - to help in withdrawing from the meds, and help with the anxiety. This Site, Withdrawal and Recovery is a Lifesaver!!! Guest guest
Dear Nik, Anxiety is often traced back to hypothyriodism. Do the Barnes check, if the figures are below 36.6 use an iodine supplement to help the thyriod supply the hormones to the pituitary. The adrenaline should flow again after about two weeks, Mike Maskery Nik <ryotboi wrote: you can try each of these separately to see if they work for you:
