Guest guest
Hi All! We did a quit smoking campaign, and I learned a lot. With addictions, generally, 12 step modells work for many. Smokers seem less inclined toward groups, but think they can do it alone. There is support for those inclined (Niccotine Annonymous has a website). 7 - 9 tries seems what it takes for success. How close are you? We did some research, and many tried less than 5 times. Self-esteem issues weigh in, with previous failures, but there is good advice here so far. No one can quit for you, and it does take motivation (hopefully not health, but it may). I'm told that other substances (other than nicotine) are used by manufactures to increase the addictive factor. I've spoken to a woman, who quit heroin, and she said tobacco is harder to kick. Tobbaco smoke smells awful. Cleaning seems helpful to Quitters, and this group should have good advice on safe cleansers, and which to avoid. There are tools to try in Healthfood stores, and many methods work. Like most things, what works well for some may not work as well for some individuals. Good advice here.
