Guest guest
Wow... I'm a new member. My name is Anita, I usualy mark my name as @nita. Diabetes since 1984. I use toronto insuline, nph insuline, avandia, metformine, asperine, crestor and since a week magnesium/calsium 500 mg/day. Until now my weight still increased, I'm overweight. Had to take more and more insuline and had the bloodsugars fairly well under controll. Now I take the magnesium and they drop to low! I realy hope the circel will be finally broken now. I hope to decrease insuline so my weight can drop too. What is your advise to use instead of the crestor, I hope that I can use more and more alternative medications. I started the post with Wow because I saw imidiatly that there must be a lot of knowledge out here, according to the postings I briefly saw. @nita
Guest guest
@nita - welcome, I would get your thyroid checked if I was you. Weight gain and high cholesterol are just 2 of the signs, I know because I have been there, diagnosed with angina, high bp, high cholesterol and told to exercise more and diet because of the weight gain, nothing worked until I was put onto thyroid meds, now it is a very slow and laborious job of losing the weight because of the minimum 5 year wait for them to diagnose. I wonder if you have any of the other symptoms that would point you in that direction, I do know that it undiagnosed hypothyroidism can cause diabetis as well. Guest guest
Thanks for the welcome, Marianne. I had my thyroid checked, right lobe is removed because there was a benine growth. I had the choise and the left lobe is still intact so no medication. Come to think of it, I gained some weight after the removal of the part but my weight gaining is also because I don't exercise and with that the insuline intake slowly went up. @nita
