Can anyone explain the difference between oleander soup, Anvirzel and

Sutherlandia OPC? Is one more effective than the others? I have heard

conflicting stories, however, I have no idea how reliable the sources are. For

stage IV colon cancer which would be the best recommendation and what dosage?

Oleander Soup is the name given to the home made oleander extract. The "recipe" or method of making it was devised based on the original patent for Anvirzel. Unless you use a hydrometer to measure specific gravity, the oleander content can vary somewhat due to factors such as individual plants, climate, time of year, etc.

Sutherlandia OPC contains 80% oleander and 20% of the "South Africa Cancer Bush" Sutherlandia Frutescens. It is available only from South Africa (except that I keep a small supply on hand as a convenience for those who want it faster than the 10-12 day or so shipping time from South Africa. The oleander extract in SOPC is made in a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Johannesburg and is made essentially the same way as Anvirzel, except that it is not freeze dried. SOPC is THE supplement for HIV/AIDS and is wonderful for cancer, Hepatitis-C and other immune disorders.

Another option you did not mention is the herbal supplement Rose Laurel OPC Plus, which contains 100% oleander and which is made at the same facility in South Africa (both supplements were created by our group member, Naturopathic Doctor Marc Swanepoel. Rose Laurel OPC is available from the Utopia Silver Supplement Company in Utopia Texas and normal delivery takes 2 to 3 days. Rose Laurel OPC Plus is a great choice for cancer. Despite the name "Cancer Bush", there has been no detectable advantage in including the Sutherlandia Frutescens when it comes to cancer.

Anvirzel is the patented medicine made in Honduras and available for import to the United States via FDA exception rule. It can be taken orally or injected (which many find to be rather painful) and it is made to very strict standards and is generally regarded as the highest quality of oleander extract available, though I am not sure that it makes that much difference compared to the supplements. What may be important considerations when considering Anvirzel are 1) You have to submit your medical records and be approved for delivery and 2) The cost, which is not covered by insurance, is $2700 for a three month supply.

  • 7 months later...

Hi Tony,

My mother was diagnosed with lung cancer (non-small cell) in September 2005, and she went through 6 rounds of chemo, and was stable for 2 years. Then one of her tumors grew back

so she had a laser surgery to "burn" the tumor (as I understand, this type of surgery is only available in China, where she lives), and was put on Tarceva since. About 6 months ago, another tumor started growing larger in size, and we did a PET scan, no tumor is found in the rest of her body so far. So the doctor put her on a low-dose chemo plus the drug that controls the blood vessel growth of the cancer cells (which I don't know the name of, sorry). But the scan 4 weeks later show no effects, the tumor actually got bigger, the doctor seemed to be very surprised and said that this combination works on most patients similar to her case. His advice is to go back on Tarceva for 4 more weeks and see how the tumor progress, and he said they could do another laser surgery if there are no small tumors appear else where, because the surgery cannot used to remove tumors under a certain size.

I am interested to see if the Rose-Laurel OPC plus would be beneficial for my mother's case, and if she can take it while taking Tarceva at the same time. Would that increase her side-effects, which she is coping considerably well. And what other type of supplement would be recommended for her? or what other treatment protocol would you recommend?

Thank you so much for your help in this.
