Guest guest
Hi, Friend's son, a young man 30, been on anti-depression, anxiety, psychotic drugs for almost 20 years since his teens. His main mental illness is OCD and anxiety. No idea why he also been prescribed anti-psychotic drugs, which I believe was main culprit causing neurological damage. Now he felt a wake up call for him to get rid of drugs, which he complains making him not be able to think clear and tired most of his waking life. After weaning half of his medications, he exhibited head jerk and his mouth open/close in constant. It was a clear sigh of drug damage and side effects. Does any natural therapy/supplement/detox can reverse these neurological damage? Please input your knowledge, thoughts and suggestion. I will be much much appreciated. Helen P/S. Two of my other female friends also developed mental illness but refuse going to see doctor and taking drugs. The conditions seems getting worse. drug or drug is a quesstion, isn't it? Wonder how many taking drugs and recovered??????
Guest guest
Helen,Is he weaning himself off those drugs, or is he being monitored by a doctor? Also how quickly is he withdrawing the drugs from his system. Those symptoms could be withdrawal. What I would suggest is that he find a naturopathic doctor to help him with this process. Is he experiencing any anxiety or depression? If he is, I can suggest supplements that will help. Regardless, if he is not eating a healthy diet, this is my first recommendation. No sugar, processes foods, junk foods, fast foods, etc. He should eat as many raw fruits and vegetables as possible. And yes, there are those that have weaned themselves off drugs successfully. However, I have heard some horror stories with regard to withdrawal symptoms. He may have slow down with the withdrawal process but with all those drugs, he definitely needs to be monitored by a physician.Hugs,
Guest guest
My Son now 25 is also on these Drugs. He had ADHD during his youth. The Doctor said he has slight traits of OCD & Turrets. He had dove into heavy Pot smoking at 21-22 then had real problems pop up. He turned to Snorting and Smoking Strattera, his scrip that he had. Hallucinations, Voices (OH YEA!) almost a total breakdown (His Mom & I was going through a Divorce). His Psychiatrist said that this combo of drugs has altered his Brain Chemistry. This may take a few years of Drug therapy to correct this imbalance. He is wanting everyday to ween himself off these drugs but it may not come to pass. Many Teens develop Phyc problems and can escalate in to Bi-polar problems and alike. It's sad but this age range also has a high Suicide rate. I blame My Son's problems on a long delivery (36 hours in labor) and was born slightly Blue! My 21 year old Step Daughter has OCD and now has a Panic Disorder. She has been in Special Ed all her life with an IQ of 70. She is now on Phyc Meds as well. She was a long Distressed delivery as well. She Should of been a C section delivery but the Doctor was Really Bad and soon after lost his License. It seems a common problem for Methamphetamine users. It rearranges their Brain Chemistry and commonly causes Bi-Polar Disease. My Mom-In-Law (I never Met) is Bi-Polar due to 25+ years of Drug use. That's my Story & I'm Sticken to it!
